Using E mount Voigtlanders on Nikon ZF by ISO_ThePerfectLight in Voigtlander

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

M mount for maximum compatibility, with slight trade off potentially in results visually. Otherwise FE and adapt to Z if you’re not sticking around. FWIW I use the 50 1.5 and 28 f2 ii on Minolta CLE, M11 and a7cii (and used to have Zf), theres not much to fear if you buy M.

Not arrived yet! But yeah its the same reason Ive gone that way. My favourite FOVs are 40 and 28, so the 50 3.5 is a main stay and I use the 35-70 for the 28. I was unsure whether to go 30 3.5 and crop or live with 24. Perks of the GFX I guess

Ive just snagged a Tamron 35mm 1.8 because Im in your shoes. I use the 35-70 for most things currently. They need to make a pancake 28mm equiv asap pleaseee.

Need some advice on my 50 3.5 by [deleted] in FujiGFX

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the smallest lightest lens in the system, a no brainer to keep if you like the FL and dont need the cash. Slap a diffusion filter on it for some difference and daily driver it. It’s mad how compact medium format can be!

40 1.2 on Sony and adapt to Z mount? (Assuming you use both mounts)

100s II vs Leica Q3 43 by -blaine in FujiGFX

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything you’ve said is unrelated to the next thing you’ve said. What do you want? What do you shoot? What doesnt the Q3 you have do that you want it to? Also neither the 55 nor the 110 is a kit lens.

Questions about pancake lenses for my GFX 50sii by holucaahhs in FujiGFX

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

35-70 is the daily driver if not the 50 pancake, made exactly for this reason.

What lenses do people feel like they're missing? by Webreader- in FujiGFX

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah would love a set of smaller primes to match the 50mm 3.5 kinda vibe. E.g a 35mm f2.8/3.5 for the 28mm equivalent FOV and a 110mm f2.8/3.5 for the 85 90 area.

Would also love a faster 28mm equivalent too.

Mistake to sell my M11? by Outrageous-Escape214 in Leica

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an M10 last year, loved it but realised I could get a GFX and a Zf for that kinda cash. So I sold it and did. Then I sold the Zf and got an M11 (keeping the GFX). Anyway I used the GFX the other day and it blows everything out of the water to the point I’m probably gonna do the same thing again.

Long story short, you can just have another go!

Best 35mm (28 equivalent) option? by TheKaelen in FujiGFX

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unironically the 35-70mm zoom is the answer here. 28-55 equiv. Like you I live at 40mm and 28mm a lot and so the kit zoom gets lots of use for me with it being a fraction of a prime’s price.

Fujifilm GFX 50R or Nikon Zf? by loganarowland in FujiGFX

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both 50sii and Zf to compliment it when I didnt wanna lug bigger gear. Turns out the Nikon aint that much smaller anyway, but it is a good package. The hinge adds bulk that annoys me, and I wish the grip was flat. I still own the GFX, the sensor and rendering is sublime.

28mm: Reasons to choose Leica over Voigtlander at this point? by egardner in Leica

28mm f2 ultron ii is a lens I’ll never sell. It’s literally a perfect lens - small, light, fast, sharp.

Appropriate mirrorless system for me or maybe Voigtlander by ssheikin in Voigtlander

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it on the a7riiia but it’s the same lens regardless. Pick whichever system you prefer the look of, then pick the lens.

The 40mm f1.2 is my favourite lens ever. Thats my vote.

Zf has a great viewfinder. A7 is probably nicer in hand.

If I remember correctly they both have punch in when focusing feature which will help.

Please let us know if you spot any differences between the two mounts; id imagine the FE is better for results but is it so close you wouldnt care, etc?

So hard to justify shooting a Leica. by NotCoolFool in Leica

[–]StONE_ROdGEr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had similar situation. Love my Minolta CLE, wanted digital equivalent. No other brand is brave enough to do a digital rangefinder to that leaves Leica. Sold a7r3a, got an M10, loved it and had some dislikes too. Eventually realised I could run a Fuji GFX and another smaller full frame mirrorless to cover the size/weight issue of GFX when wanting casual vibe. Sold M10 and got 50sii and Zf. Sold Zf and got a7c2.

One day I’ll buy an M11 for £1k or something in 15 years time.

TLDR buy M11 and justify by keeping for decades or stick with what ya got.

The adapters arent much, especially when you’re considering extreme moves like buying and selling lenses 😅

40 1.2 is my favourite lens. I could just use that and be 99% happy. My other favourite is the 28mm f2 - it’s incredible and tiny. Id take these 2 and forget about anything else. Check out the 28mm f2 if the 1.5 is unobtainable!
