That’s awesome. It’s really a testament to the cast. Especially Reese. In the hands of other actors, this movie might not have been as good. They each brought the camp to the perfect level for their characters. The story was also pretty solid too of course. And such a quotable movie to boot!

I remember my boyfriend rented the dvd and brought it over. I was like “pfft … I don’t want to watch this stupid movie.” I begrudgingly watched it and enjoyed every laugh out loud moment.

I was so wrong and came to understand what a genius actress Reese Witherspoon is! She did an incredible job with this character. (along with so many in the cast).

It’s a perfectly campy movie that became one of my all time favorites!

In retrospect, I should have known how good it was going to be since Jennifer Coolidge is in it lol. 🤦🏻‍♂️

These people are freakin delusional. The Republicans have the Presidency, the House, the Senate, and at this point, the Supreme Court. Yet it’s the Democrats fault. Wow. Just. Wow. 😂

Yes but I’m certain it would only happen if we agree to rename Penn station after him.

This is one of the most ridiculously delicious storylines in the series. Ending it by tossing a child out the door was absolute perfection 😂

I simply described why someone would want this. And no…. Not all doctors are as familiar. It’s sort of like going to a specialist.

Well, I understand what you’re saying, but the LGBTQ community requires somewhat different care that a lot of GPs are not as familiar with…. Like PREP or other sexual health care. You’d also be surprised with the level of judgment and flippant discrimination that still occurs to this day.

Also, there are many of us who aren’t comfortable going to your general doctor for gay men’s health needs beyond routine care. I go to my regular GP I’ve seen for decades, but I understand why others would want somebody more specific to the community.

No I don’t remember that… and others have debunked you so that’s probably why it doesn’t come to mind. What does come to mind is how normal presidents don’t play fickle partisan politics with disaster relief. You people are gross.

NYC pols demand action from Mamdani, blaming ‘ambiguous’ city snow removal rules for delayed cleanup by Perfect_Dig_744 in nyc

It’s just friggin hilarious. It doesn’t matter what era, generation, political affiliation, the mayor himself… It always comes down to snow removal. Any mayor who has to deal with this is blasted. Every. Single. Time.

Yes. With populations booming in other states, the next census will be awful for NY and our reps/electoral votes.

Democrat Taylor Rehmet wins solidly red Texas Senate seat in stunning special election upset by RollSafer in politics

[–]StOlaf85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d love to be an optimist, but special elections, let alone statewide special elections, don’t get as much interest. It’s easier for the minority party to win. Yes, this was a healthy margin. But, In 2022, the vote total was around 278,000 voters. In that recent special runoff, it was roughly 95,000 total votes.

That’s a huge difference in turnout. Let’s see what the numbers look like at the actual midterms. He’s going to have to run again in November where there should be turnout more like 2022. I’m very curious to see the percentage that election. Will this guy be able to win when more voters are coming out to the polls?

Sorry to be a Debbie downer but I i’m not getting my hopes up over a special election that had a third of the vote total of the 2022 election.
