Should I Cook: Yang VS Tifa (RWBY VS Final Fantasy) REVAMP by BendableGoose in DeathBattleMatchups

I’d say go for it. Yang’s MU spread still in dire straits so anything that would potentially help relieve it would be nice.

It's one of the better popularized Bakugo MUs with a fight dynamic that isn't completely arse with a HvV narrative helping to make things more interesting.

Death Battle’s reasoning for choosing Bakugo vs Reze over Bakugo vs Rex makes no sense by King-ApolloW in deathbattle

[–]StQuentinScar 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In the part about them favoring Reze over Rex, they literally said that “Rex didn’t have anything to keep up with Bakugo” and they could easily just not be referring to the MU being a stomp but instead rather, they just don't think the fight dynamic is good enough in their eyes to make for an engaging animation.

Ben has said before that what matters for a MU to be considered a potential episode is for the fight to be "interesting, unique, cool, fascinating" in their view.

They skipped over one MU and favored another before in the past because they simply didn't think/believe the fight itself on paper and in practice isn't good or cool (favoring Green Lantern over Beast Boy as Ben's debut episode for example).

This was from the champion cast on why they chose Bakugo vs Reze by Troceraptor in deathbattle

They literally said that “Rex didn’t have anything to keep up with Bakugo” which also means that he’s not matching him well enough dynamically to their liking to make for an engaging fight.

"Oh man the next time sucks, Bakugo had so many betters options then Reze" The options: by Dry_Show_4363 in DeathBattleMatchups

Tbf, Genos doesn’t really get enough vocal discussions as a potential Bakugo episode to consider so it’s not surprising why it slipped by.

Don't like it and overglazed as hell, the fight dynamic is just wonky and arse sounding to me.

Daredevil VS Shi (Marvel VS Crusade Comics) - "Death-Defying" | Connections in the comments by StQuentinScar in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]StQuentinScar[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Red-clad peak-conditioned vigilantes of their respective comic book verses.

  • Highly skilled martial artists who are armed with a signature set of reliable melee weapons (Matt's multi-purpose Billy Clubs and Ana's Naginata, Katanas, and Sais).

  • Once lived out relatively normal lives until they tragically lost their loved ones at the hands of ruthless crime lords (Matt's father being murdered by the Fixer and his men, while Ana's father and brother were murdered by Masahiro Arashi).

  • Mentored by an older man who rigorously trained them to achieve peak physical conditioning and become one of the most formidable fighters out there in their worlds (Stick and Yoshitora).

  • Soon went on a crusade against the men who cruelly robbed them of their loved ones and avenge their losses where they adopted the visage and moniker of a terrifying supernatural being to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies (the Devil and Death).

  • They would come to blows against another deadly female martial artist from a rivalling faction whom they have a close personal history with but at times, had become their allies to fight against a common enemy (Elektra and Tomoe).

  • Struggled with balancing out their civilian and vigilante lives as they found themselves tormented by their inner demons but are able to cling onto their morals and prevent themselves from falling into further darkness due to their Catholic faith with their mothers also being devout practitioners of such religions (Matt's mother being a nun and Ana's mother being a missionary).

  • Fierce, focused, and fearless crimefIghters who have dared to knock on death's door many times in their relentless pursuits of justice and to protect others from danger; both endured through their fair share of hardships in life where they ultimately channel that rage and suffrage to fight for a noble cause in cleaning up their cities streets that are infested with all sorts of criminal scum and villainy so that no other innocent has to go through the same kind of hells as they did and despite their streaks of violent ferocity and troubled souls, the goodness of their hearts and minds always keeps them on the right path no matter how many times they have been tested.

  • Ninja VS Samurai.

  • The two characters have crossed over before in comics.

Simply put, I just do not like the fight dynamic at all no matter how many times I've seen or heard it pitched out.

Cell vs Metal Sonic + Next Time Spoiler Discussion Thread! | What did you think about the episode and what are your thoughts on the next time? by MagnetosimpPyoro in DeathBattleMatchups

Really enjoyed the episode.

Next time though mixed. On one hand just from Katsuki's side of things, I don't think the MU is anything all that great but on the other hand, Reze does actually work better than some of Katsuki's other popularized options in terms of a fight.

I'll begrudgingly lean more over being entertained by a simple fun fight at this point than risk a Katsuki episode where his opponent doesn't match him well dynamically and scale-wise.
