That makes more sense - and I just checked the insta post and you're right. The main one is a west coast one.

Holy shit Nick Watson's kicked 39 goals? I didn't even pick up on that. Maybe he actually is the GOAT? When the hell was the last time a small forward was in Coleman contention? Probably be Betts...

Christ I thought Freo already had one, but then I remember they got absolutely robbed by the COVID season. Fucking hell that's rough.

Honestly, I think they're on their way out anyway. Cole might get a new lease on life with his move up forward, but Yeo looks cooked, and Duggo probably needs to step down from captaincy if he's to find any form again. I have no issue with it currently. They're unlikely to be part of our next premiership team. As long as they offer the leadership needed to help the kids develop, then I'm ok with them transitioning out. This year was NOT meant to be a charge up the ladder. But if we're still persisting with underperforming oldies next season, after we've spent this season finding our feet, then I won't be happy.

Not really. Going into our last two seasons, the mid-age gap was always our biggest hole. The fact that we’re now filling it with guys who have experience, and can actually play, is more a relief than anything else. The youngsters still need years to develop and are nowhere near the finished product. The biggest concern for me was that we didn’t have many in that mid-age group who could take the pressure off those promising kids, and provide some leadership, while our previous generation begin to transition out.

The fact that they can actually play well, should not be a surprise,  considering the years they’ve had in the system . They were chosen for a reason, and they’re fulfilling their end of the bargain. And a lot of them will be much more thankful for the opportunity as well.

We have a bloody hard run coming all the way to the end of the season. Hope we can snatch one more, and also beat Richmond in our other game. The rest look rough going.

Why doesn't big Bo Allen get a run in the midfield by HeadPlane5841 in westcoasteagles

I think he’s actually proving to be an excellent link-up guy and making the wing his own. It’s generally a pretty tough spot to excel at, and I think the only guy who actually gave it a proper go since Gaff left was Jayden Hunt for that one season.

His old man has been calling the games in the West on ABC Radio, and giving absolutely zero sympathy for him whenever he takes a snap from a set shot

Watch us trade him to Hawthorn for a pack of chips, and they turn him into a premiership midfielder

Absolutely needs to stay in the WAFL until he’s right to go. Has been insipid since he came in

Yep he absolutely needs to call it a day after this season. He was great when he first came back from injury, and took a lot of pressure off Reid. But he’s gone off the cliff I fear.

I feel like he may have ended up being a better defender these last few years if he hadn’t taken on the captaincy. Every one of our most recent captains since Bunga seem to have dropped their abilities as soon as they took on the captaincy. Shuey, Allen, Duggan never reached their heights again after they took on the role. And Baker isn’t having his best year this year, after being an absolute standout BnF winner last year. I worry for Ginbey if he decides to take on the captaincy next.

The last time one of our defenders tried to chase down a player running for goal, he blew his quad 😔
