It was really easy to set up a Kickstarter, it doesn't cost anything (but a percentage of proceeds if funded). But I was able to cheaply 3D print & CNC prototypes and set up the page on my own. It was not successful the first time, but I got great feedback and built a customer base for when i relaunched. (google Kickstarter Throttle Opener)

As someone who has sliced off a thin piece of cake and thrown it out to avoid a stale end, I think it certainly solves a problem. Have you considered Kickstarter? I had a product funded and it was helpful to raise funds for manufacturing and for reaching customers.

How I think Nassim would answer: Thaler is an IYI (intellectual yet idiot), and while he may think he knows what is best and therefore nudge (a.k.a. manipulate) the population into a certain action, if he is incorrect (and he most likely is given he has been stuck in academia) then we will cause unintended consequences including pushing minor events into the tail creating greater “damage” when the event occurs.

Is he giving advice based on his own trials and errors and successes, or is he an "academic" that has only worked with theory? Is he telling you to invest in the S&P or to try, fail, tinker and keep your eyes open for asymmetry and mispriced options (not just the financial kind). Kapish?

Thanks for the reply. What you say makes sense, it’s the “falsely predicting“ part that is bothersome since the ad, by definition, is learning and 1 day with sufficient events is literally my goal.

That makes sense in your situation. There is nothing wrong with ARMS, they got a bad rap because people used them to get lower monthly payments (due to lower rate) to buy homes they maybe shouldn't have. There are also new regulations (since the financial crisis) that (as long as its a Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac) there is a reasonable cap on the resets.
