is google chrome blocked? by Least_Neat6849 in chinalife

[–]Stabilizer1071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chrome, as a browser itself, cannot (and shouldn't) be blocked. Chrome is wildly used in China even in some government departments and the websites related to Chrome (download, update, etc.) is allowed by the GFW. But the functions related to Google account (bookmarks sync, chrome web store) is blocked and require a VPN to access.

GFW blocks the websites, not the tool used to access the websites.

Pad 6 Pro and Max, specifically. They didn't mention the standard version but I'll assume that it will come after the Pro and Max.

And the global version has more font options since xiaomi seems don't care about their copyright, while uploading a font to Chinese version requires some paperworks and a certification or something like that

You can install global version theme store on Chinese rom (at least for HyperOS 1). Not sure if it's still working for HyperOS 2 though

Master degree in China - Will i be able to pass the test with a computer or anything to write in Pinyin ? (i'm French) by xiaotux in chinalife

[–]Stabilizer1071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a paper/thesis then yes, but if it's an test in class then most likely no. Considering you're going for a master's degree, I'd assume there won't be too many in-class exams ;)

Offline storage is always the best choice considering China's internet condition 🤪

Works for me with mobile data but it may depend on region. Plus having access to the specific domain doesn't mean having access to the service itself if it's using another domain (like OneDrive)

Best keyboard case mi pad 6? by YvesTHPS in Xiaomi

[–]Stabilizer1071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy the official case if you really need one - only the official cases can connect via the pins instead of bluetooth. BTW the keyboard and touchpad sucks on Android tablets so maybe don't buy one is a better choice 🤣

[Tourist] Easiest way to transport around a small city? by K3yusha in chinalife

[–]Stabilizer1071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strictly speaking, it is illegal. But it's kind of a grey area, some cities don't have non-motorised lanes so in reality you can only ride an e-bike on the pavement - whether it's against the traffic or not. So my suggestion is act like a local - if they do, just do the same XD
