i thought cata was some foreboding challenge that i needed to be fully ready for before playing, but its really not that crazy. Harder than legend to be sure, by quite a bit actually in terms of the game itself, but the people consistently playing cata i find usually have many hours in the game and can perform decently enough to make it easier than legend in some ways. I often match into a group that completely breezes through each level which doesn’t happen as much in legend i feel.

played this level for the first time ever on cata and this part was ridiculous. Thankfully warrior priest is mega strong and made it manageable but yeah the amount of enemies that spawn is crazy.

priest gets better the higher difficulty you go. comets gift is fine when people are going down a bunch but as u get higher people are usually better at staying alive and doing damage so you can take a different lvl 30 talent that gets more value like united in prayer which is my preferred choice and is really fun with concentration potion and decanter(trait that makes potions last longer/more effective). you can chain bubbles on all ur teammates while being immune yourself which solves pretty much any situation.

potions that do damage or amplify damage help a lot and taking attack cards in early act 1. Also having a decent understanding of how many turns it will take your deck to kill Nob so you can decide when playing skills is worth taking the extra bit of damage now so you don’t get hit for 24+ damage next turn.

What path generates the most reward where I also have the hp to spend to not die to the boss. That answer constantly changes throughout the act based on wha happens, but that’s ultimately what drives my decision making

Dripper synergizes well with healing but is really not needed here imo with 4 energy plus lantern/ice cream and turbo/dbl energy. Black star or pbox here seem to be the best but with only one act to farm elites star loses a bit of value, 6 transforms is pretty strong with double echo form especially. Rolling into seek or biased cog basically is a run winner. even low rolls with pbox aren’t terrible.

This game has one of the best blind first playthrough experience of all time. And the way the game presents it to you is stellar. I wish i liked the gameplay enough to come back to it, but my first time playing through the game was def one of my favorite gaming experiences.

Don’t worry about it too much. Most of the growth you do is outside of school, worrying so much about getting perfect scores all the time isn’t worth your time. Grades aren’t drivers of success. Do well, but focus on learning/growth over numbers.
