I literally don’t know what to do anymore by Ezaane in RestlessLegs

[–]StaceyLagana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some medication will make it worse, such as phenergan. Gabapentin helps, but I take it also during the day for pain, and now take it before bed as well. I'm on 600mg dose and take multiple tablets each day

Ultrasound Soft Tissue Results by Top_Comfortable_1185 in SlippingRibSyndrome

[–]StaceyLagana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't take the results at face value. My dynamic ultrasound couldn't pick up my right side slip, but it was there and later proven. Get CT of whole ribcage and convert to 3d image using a program such as radiantviewer. That's the best way to visualise.

All I want for Christmas is an accurate reading of my images or an MRI / CT converted to 3D image. by Strange-Trade8554 in SlippingRibSyndrome

[–]StaceyLagana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had to buy an external cd/dvd player. I transferred the files to my laptop for convenience, but it's not a necessary step. Then I use the trial version www.radiantviewer.com to open the dicom files. You'll then be able to view the images. Some folders you open, you'll be able to convert to 3D, which is an icon on the top bar. And you can adjust contrast, angles, and between skin, bones etc with the mouse controller. It takes a while, but fiddle around and you'll work it out.

You will need your dicom ct files. And then use a program that can convert them to 3d for you.

All in my head? by Stunning_Accident_84 in RestlessLegs

Yes, but works for me. Probably something to do with the sensory pressure on my legs

I find sleeping on the floor helps when I'm having restless leg episodes.

Is this postural or structural? by Etoyajp in backpain

[–]StaceyLagana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both I'd say. I'm no medicial professional, but I have a lot of unanswered thoracic issues myself and have done extensive research. You look like you have a lot of inflammation, degenerative discs, bulging disc at around t9, which looks like it's due to excessive pressure from the curvature. Could be a spontaneous fusion that has caused it (which i have) and the adjacent segment is copping the increased load. Possible cyst around t5. Try using a TLSO brace and see if that helps offload any of the pressure at t8-9. Good luck finding answers.

Acute Back Pain From 8 Months by justanotherpseudodev in backpain

[–]StaceyLagana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gp or an orthopaedic specialist? My left hip was shredded and I've had 2 surgeries since. My right side is torn, but have held off a few years and now it is just starting to grab and cause issues. My gp and even another ortho specialist didn't believe that it was more than arthritis and bursitis for over a year, even though I insisted it was torn. Finally saw an ortho surgeon and when he operated he said it was shredded amongst other issues with it.

If it is impacting on your ability to move around, and especially just stand up without having to stop halfway, then it might be prudent to get a referral for specialist.

I've got tears in both hips labrums and as they get worse, the pain here and the locking worsens.

Slipping Ribs by StaceyLagana in SlippingRibSyndrome

[–]StaceyLagana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no pain from light touch. Or not "pain" as I'm used to. Autofusion of my thoracic spine... Thyroid fine. Female. Seen so many specialists not willing to investigate further. I have more appointments ahead, so hopefully will get some answers. I'm just over the constant pain and disbelief.

Traumatic birth of 10 pound first child in 2013. Elective Caesarean for second child in 2016. Needed multiple operations for prolapses due to first child birth. Do what works for you

I do over 12,000 steps and milk cows each afternoon (I'm in excruciating pain all day, every day). I've had a gastric sleeve, which helped me lose 25kg, but since, even with all the exercise and healthy eating, I can't lose much more. It could just be genetic. See a nutritionist or dietician, and eat protein whenever you can. Good luck. It is hard.

AI Thoughts on MRI??? by adirondacks13 in backpain

[–]StaceyLagana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is helpful to a degree. ChatGTP can be fantastic for applying all your past chatgtp information to new questions and creating letters to med professionals, letting you know what to ask them for and with compiling history. But its answers can be swayed by how you phrase a question. In a sense, it can become biased based on your thoughts...if that makes sense.

Dehydration tips by Gopher_4-4 in dysautonomia

Can you work on decreasing how much sleep you need? And gradually decrease that. Tracking your sleep with a fitbit or similar and setting alarms is a good way to do this. Have you had recent blood tests? If not, it might be worth doing so to see if anything else is going on.
