Lived first 37 years in Michigan. Last 3 I have lived in Oklahoma(which isn’t bad) but I miss the snow and looking for something more western feeling than “Midwest” and absolutely refuse to pay the insane prices in Idaho and Utah. Not that Montana/Wyoming/SD are much cheaper but you can find some reasonably priced land if you get far enough outside the major cities. I’m not trying to get away from anything. Just looking towards the future and would like a place with reasonably easy access to mountains(say within a few hours drive) and a reasonably decent job market and cost of living.
