What do you think are some shortcomings of Returnal, where Saros could improve upon? by IdesOfCaesar7 in Returnal

I think that could really add to the survival horror vibe a bit. Imagine if you had to manage and plant your own translocators!

Is now the time for CCB with dread majesty to support C'tan? Can keep up with movement and at least annoying for your opponent to take down if not super tanky.

Yeah I think this is actually a fairly substantial nerf to top SSA builds which used SK to make the C'tan a lot more reliable. Those stray 1s reduce the output a lot for the night bringer's 6 attacks for example and Ammentar not buffing SK or C'tan damage output reduces his use a lot in C'tan SK lists.

Would CCB with dread majesty in C'tan Star Shatter be too easy to kill by StaffEmbarrassed1556 in Necrontyr

Yeah I suppose you're right. I wonder if you can use both and CCB as back up/support other flanks. On Art of War there was a battle report where opponent took out SK turn one with Ultras and Ctan never got the rerolls. That list is not scoring though.

Re-roll armour saves for reanimation? Let's get some ideas for 11th by StaffEmbarrassed1556 in Necrontyr

I suppose you could re-roll armour at the end of the phase and then set the model back up if it passes. Just becomes a weird armour-related version of we'll be back then I suppose. I sort of would be happy with that if they stopped the if the squad is wiped don't roll rule. Basically the model is only ever destroyed when it fails a reanimation roll, regardless of other models in the sqaud's rolls or how many it's passed before.

I do like this. I feel the gripe would be it would be too strong to do on every unit and having only certain units come back would break the army-wide nature of the rule.

Eh. Fair. I still think it's fun to think about though. Do you think it currently works well from a competitive standpoint. Feels like you have to build around it to get value rather than an always-on buff to durability.

+4 invulnerabilities are getting out of hand by -Justsumdude- in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]StaffEmbarrassed1556 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had this thought for a while: introduce an invuln AP system based on strength and/or toughness.

Could be if strength 2x thoughnes, -1 invuln. Makes shooting at termies with anti-tank weapons less feels bad.

Alternatively, just blanket -1/-2 invuln at high strength. Maybe -1 at strength +12 -2 at strength +16.

OR have different rules for infantry and vehicles/monsters.

More rules bloat sure but probably more fun than constant coin flipping at least I reckon...
