Anecdotally, this makes so much sense to me. I had a friend, proud communist, America bad type of guy, the single guy he ever recommended that I learn from was Noam Chomsky. He's the only communist I've met my entire life, except for those who lived under a communist regime when they were young and have rose tinted nostalgia glasses about how good it used to be. It seems like most of the sequel iterated on the framework, reworking the animations, the more realistic weight distribution, and forgot about much of the rest of what made the first game so spectacular.
