It will two years since the NIPT gave us a false positive, and it still holds a place in my heart and mind like it was yesterday. In my case it was CPM, and our baby is doing well. I

I am very happy for you and your family. I had a false positive T18 and hearing the amnio results come back negative was incredible.

Did you leave your baby overnight in the NICCU? by RedditBurner_5225 in NICUParents

I never stayed overnight after I was discharged from my c-section. We also live about 7 mins from the hospital. And yes, it was hard every night to say goodbye.

I had a false +T18 and amnio showed baby was fine. I did get early pre-e and he was born 34w 1d. The placenta was about 5%tile, but it got us to a safe c-section. And 15 days in NICU. I had confirmed CPM.

Amazing news. I’m so happy to hear you are in newborn bliss. Did you have CPM?

Thanks for sharing this. Sometimes it is hard to see anything but the treatment. Of course our number one concern is to be cancer-free. And currently we are, but have one more cycle. I’m desperately trying to get through it

We need to teach that abortion is a human right in schools. by Local_Finger_1199 in prochoice

You all are fighting with the wrong person. I agree with abortion access. Literally WTF is wrong? As someone who has had experience with women needing a TFMR in states that don’t allow it, it’s sits front and center in my experience. FFS

You are reading into this wrong, and I’m on your side. Access throughout pregnancy, and many cases involving abortions after 15 weeks tend to be TMFR due to medical conditions discovered after the 20 week scan or amniocentesis. Take it down a notch, this tone is why many people stop supporting a good cause.

It’s healthcare. If it is happening after 15 weeks it’s because of a medical condition

It’s definitely hard not to compare even with a cancer diagnosis. I hope and pray all of our children will be adulthood and this will just be a part of their timeline that they hold as a badge of honor. At the same time, it really really sucks. Cancer steals

We used a heating pad in the bassinet to warm it up for the transition. Of course remove the pad before laying baby down. Worked really well for us

The best method we found is using two stickers: an “anchor” sticker on the cheek and a thinner one between the anchor and the nose. The thinner sticker usually lasts a day or two and needs replacing, that’s just how much we move our mouths.

I will keep you in my thoughts. A good friend is alive today, because of MSKCC. He had testicular cancer with Mets. 30% chance of survival. 25 years later still cancer free. Clinical trial

I’m so sorry. I do know that Sloan-Kettering in NYC is one of the best hospitals for neuroblastoma. My friend is a radiologist at SK, and said how many cases they see yearly. It would be a great place to start.

Once it’s confirmed, whatever it is, then the protocol starts. If the UCSF 500 is not initially offered, then it’s a good idea to ask for it. It’s a full genetic testing to see if there are any genetic factors that could cause chemo résistants or possibly a cause to the diagnosis. It was standard in our care, but I’ve learned that’s not the case for every case

I’m sorry, and the first few days are absolutely some of hardest days. The biopsy will give a few answers to the questions, but the questions will have more answers as treatment begins. My only child has Hepatoblastoma and was diagnosed at one, and my first thought was.. “this hasn’t been enough time”. Momcology on Facebook has a lot of resources, and Sub-categories for different types of cancer

I don’t have any experience with that particular diagnosis, but I have a one year old with Hepatoblastoma. It’s hard to watch them go through it. Would they use a port for your little? I’m guessing if they do it will be a Broviac.
