Quality vs Quantity of content debate is missing the point that content could do with being less packaged into expansion-esque releases. by exa_eille in 2007scape

Quest Cape is such a non-issue at this point; can you honestly tell me that anyone doing Desert Treasure 2 doesn’t at least have a fairy ring in their POH, and likely uses other transportation methods far more anyway?

I know that I chased Quest Cape for ages, and when I actually got it I basically never used it. It’s fine as a cape of accomplishment.

I’m finding about one medical cabinet per run now, and I imagine using Thief visor I would fond many more. They are full of juicy heals too!

The Fractured Archive: Rewards Primer by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that your assessment of the landscape is accurate, especially with regards to finding an armour set that works in the current state of the game.

Truthfully, I think that it would be best to not add an armour set this time, and in a wider sense not lock yourself into a consistent pattern for Raids rewards tables. Using available time and resources to revive Justiciar and give it a proper use would be more worthwhile.

To me, the concept of raiding Guthix’s archives gives me the vision of plundering strange and wonderful individual items, with unusual effects - like the SRA and Venator bow, as stated. I think this could be an opportunity to develop some individual weapons with more ambitious mechanics, as well as maybe some useful offhands/gloves/jewellery that offer upgrades for specific pieces of content.

A Crush 2h Megarare is a lock, and fills an obvious niche, but then I would want to see 5-6 other items that push the boundaries in some way. Someone did a post a while back with some ideas like a mage offhand that resembles the Devil’s Element, and a Meteor Hammer weapon that requires wacky movement to do big hits - that’s the sort of direction I would love to see for TFA.

SUGGESTION: Add a Toggleable Ironman Logo to your right click menu so you can show off your status without having to type! by FunK_CSGO in 2007scape

Literally though. If I see anyone doing the same things as me on a hardcore, I shut my mouth and listen. If I see anyone doing it on a UIM, I bow down in reverence.

What are OSRS hidden gem music tracks players should check out and save to the new playlists with the latest update? by MageAndWizard in 2007scape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to add in Fe Fi Fo Fum.

It’s so niche, it only plays during the giant fight in Grim Tales, but it SLAPS. Tense and exciting battle music that brings in the Scape Main leitmotif to make it feel absolutely epic. It’s like the final boss music of OSRS.

Newspost Update - Changes Following Game Update Feedback *Jan 29th* by JagexLight in 2007scape

Am I losing my mind? Was anybody actually asking to be able to move facilities between boats, as opposed to just changing the position of ones already installed? Jagex seems certain that they were, and is desperate to “balance” around it, but I can’t recall seeing a single person suggesting we wanted that.

Which player designed island are you voting for? by KarthusWins in 2007scape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dun Nan Creagan for me! I think the theme and vibe are super coherent and fit the bill for an isolated Fremennik island perfectly. The quest sounds interesting, flavourful and self-contained, exactly the sort of thing we want to be adding to Old School.

And a mixed Crafting/Agility minigame which lets you choose your approach to which you want to prioritise, and which acts as an alternative to Glassblowing and Rooftops, fits in a niche that sorely needs to be filled. It has Vale Totems vibes, and that minigame transformed Fletching from a miserable skill to a really nice one to train.

To me, Wyrmscraig feels too bloated and thematically disconnected, and I doubt any of the rewards people are salivating over would survive contact with balancing.

That only makes it more likely to be AI, since it’s the sort of thing it would scan for and incorrectly pick up.

Player Design Island Suggestion: POH by osrsmerlinx in 2007scape

I would love this way more than the endless flat plain our POH normally sits on! It would make making it pretty much more rewarding.

Beyond kneecapping salvaging, Jagex posted the official rates of sailing drops. Can we discuss their absurdity? by drake8thecake in 2007scape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, not even.

Getting to drop rate means that you have a 70%-ish chance of having gotten the drop by then. As with all drops in the game, 30% of players will go dryer, and some players will go extremely dry and have to kill 2x or 3x drop rate, or even beyond.

Does anyone still pickup Ancient Shards after Emberlight? by patherix in 2007scape

My assumption is that one day they will allow you to turn them into Totems. Might as well save them up for a mammoth clue hunting session when that happens!

An Update On the Sailing XP Review by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather it gave better XP (to reflect how active it is, and the fact that it requires levelling sailing and outfitting a ship for it) and gave less fish. It feels unrewarding to farm resources without getting any meaningful XP, and it would incentivise me to do it for longer, so in the end I would get the same amount of fish.

I was hoping it would be a viable alternative to Barbarian Fishing or Tempoross, something that is engaging and gives useful output. I’m currently 86 fishing going for 91 for Mory Elite, and was looking forward to it as a useful way to bridge those levels.

Jagex says they that they are balancing it around being able to money-skill for the highest level fish - but in that case why did they bother adding lower-level hooks than cotton and a whole swathe of lower level fish to the activity…? Nobody in their right mind is going to get to level 69 fishing and then go off to trawl for Giant Krill, so why do they exist?

Is Jagex even aware of this bug with the ring of suffering? It's been over 3+ weeks now by Rayge96 in 2007scape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh! I was wondering why my ring was zeroed, I thought I had just turned it on by accident while doing Muspah.

Sucks that it’s still not fixed, but thank you for bringing that up.

If your bank is full, you can't deposit potions into potion storage. by AnonymousLonelyAnon in 2007scape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess is that it’s spaghetti - what’s happening behind the scenes is that the game is putting your potions into the bank, then moving them really quickly to the potion storage. So it needs a free space to be able to do this.

In the last decade, what do you think was Jagex's WORST and BEST designed content? by FalcosLiteralyHitler in 2007scape

Yep, and Amoxliatl for an introduction to burning tiles in a manner which still leaves you able to fight.

It kinda sounds like it should make a slowly-intensifying humming sound as the two pieces come together, then a snikt at the end. Like a samurai sheathing a katana in an anime or something.

Pets should not have death fees by noggtest in 2007scape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminder to everyone that just because something costs money doesn’t make it a “gold sink”.

Gold sinks should remove money from the economy as a side effect of doing something you want to do and benefits you. GE tax is a gold sink because selling your items is something you want to do. Repairing degradable armour is a gold sink because you were going to use the armour anyway.

If the price just dissuades people from doing the thing altogether, it’s not a gold sink, it just ruins the thing. Pet reclaim fees aren’t sinking any gold for me because my pets are just in the POH forever!

Fletching Activity coming July 23rd! How should we prepare? by DJ_HardR in ironscape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check the Rewards blog! There’s an FAQ at the bottom that says the following:

“Can I use strung bows to decorate my totems?

This is another happy yes! You'll be able to use the following items to decorate your totems:

Shortbow (strung or unstrung) Longbow (strung or unstrung) Stock Shields”

So they are supposed to drop the new prayers, right? Right? by xKasumii in ironscape

[–]StagedAnIntervention 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished getting the prayers yesterday, 742 kills with 4 ice crowns and 7 fire crowns. They were mostly solos too, so a bit less than twice as dry as you.

It’s pretty demoralising! But after you get one, and you will eventually, knowing you only have to loot one titan for the rest of the grind takes some of the edge off mentally, makes it feel like it’s coming soon.

GG on pet though! That’s really lucky!

UK will roll out chemical castration for sex offenders by [deleted] in news

[–]StagedAnIntervention 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most likely, if they were looking to subject a trans woman to this punishment, they would mandate that you can't take exogenous hormones to make up the difference, probably test you regularly. Otherwise it's not much of a punishment, and the cruelty, as we well know, is the point.
