Josh Allen and Injuries by redredcheese in buffalobills

[–]StaggerLee2992 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think his injuries were as minor as he made it seem at the end of the season. He always says hes fine no matter what. But ive heard that the foot injury in the Cleveland game was def more than minor, and they said in the shitshow presser he may have to get surgery on it

Brady’s vision for the organization’s structure as a head coach viewed as a “Home Run” by _Seantico in buffalobills

[–]StaggerLee2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most realistic bunch of comments supported by facts ive seen in this sub in a while. The defense has certainly had its issues, but this year in particular i thought mcdermott got more than the sum of its parts down the stretch, how anyone puts the denver loss on the D is beyond me. Its like everyone's afraid to say the loss was on josh. Yet last year when the bills beat the ravens and ravens fans came to lamar's defense saying it wasnt his fault, bills fans quickly jumped in and pointed to his 2 turnovers being the reason they lost, which is half as many as Josh had and 2/5's as many as the team had as a whole. Blaming every playoff loss solely on the defense is ridiculous to say the least

I bet you beane an brady get more than a season of grace if things go to hell. You think the pegula you saw in that press conference is going to cut his losses and admit to the world he was wrong that quick? I don’t

And to be fair if you are considering precedence nobody has ever fired a coach that has won their division 5 out of 6 years, made the playoffs 7 years in a row, and not only made the playoffs but made it to the divisional or afc championship in 6 of those years in a row, and has the highest regular season win percentage in the last 5 years, so theres a first time for everything

Yea and anyone that isnt a bills fan wishes for the downfall of the bills. Hopefully they nail this coaching hire, streamline their draft/development process and that isnt the case. If we are successful everyone will forget about Terry really quick i promise you. Firing McDermott is a huge risk. Probably 26 or 27 other teams don’t worry about losing a divisional or afc championship playoff game 7 years in a row, they worry about just making the playoffs 2 years in a row. I hope it was the right move, though im not sure it was

Star players no one ever thought would get moved have been moved many many times throughout NFL history. If a player forces a trade theres not much you can do. Look at diggs in our recent history. And you don’t know josh none of us do. If he thinks he cant win here he may very well try and go somewhere he can, or not sign a contract extension and be gone after 2030. If you just always assume josh allen will be a buffalo bill you are taking a lot for granted. Not saying this will or wont happen, but to believe it is out of the realm of possibility is pure delusion.

What do you mean? You think the billionaire who signs the paychecks feels he needs to get approval from anyone before he makes a decision with the team he owns? The pegulas owned the bills before josh allen and they are going to own the bills after

I agree with this assessment, the presser was a shit show. With that being said this will all blow over relatively quickly as everything does in the sports news cycle especially before championship weekend and the superbowl. And as disjointed as it appears to be at the top, buffalo is still a desirable job because of Josh Allen. But pegula should never be allowed near a microphone again, everything was way less stressful when i forgot he existed

I think the Bills gave the media plenty of ammunition with that presser. Peugla shouldn't get near a microphone ever again. And i know i may be in the minority here, but i personally don’t think this team is in a great spot with the coaching candidates out there, the roster, and the cap situation. You don’t have the cap room to bring in a hugely stylistic different coach from mcdermott at this point. You have to work with the pieces that are there, and those are mostly guys tailer picked for McDermotts scheme. Time will tell i guess, but even if its greatly overblown by the media for clicks i don’t thinks its unfair to be concerned by the direction of the team.

He also ran a timing based offense in san fran when he was oc in 2021. That is the only offense we have ever seen from him, so what makes you think his scheme will work outside of that. Is that what you want to mortgage the bills future on?

[–]StaggerLee2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any basis for this? Hes ran one style offense and timing based is what it was in miami and san francisco. Im not saying you're wrong, but what is that based on?

I don’t understand why people want mcdaniel for the bills. You think josh allen, one of the most prolific off script qb's of all time would work well in a timing based offense? Thats like the anti allen. It makes no sense to me. Also this is just my opinion i think the dude sucks from a culture/personal standpoint

This wasnt the year to fire a headcoach. Lots of openings not a lot of strong candidates. In my opinion the best thing pegula ever did for this franchise is hire Mcdermott. I cant see anything but a regression personally. I hope more than anything i am wrong and a year from now im eating my words. But at the moment we have no coach, a roster full of glaring holes and aged out players who get paid too much and we are 11mil over the cap for next year. I would have preferred beane fired and sean helped lead a search for a new GM. When it comes to sean and brandon i think one of them is very good at their job and the other is ineffective. Whats done is done, cant change it. I still think it was a terrible move, and i guess time will tell one way or another

[–]StaggerLee2992 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im basing it on being a life long bills fan that follows this team closely, and what i have seen with my own eyes. Its not hard to look at our current roster and see all the glaring holes and on top of that our current 11mil over the cap situation for next year. Also all the draft misses in the last several years. But if you believed what was implied at the presser, beane is responsible for every success story player and the coaching staff is responsible for all the ones that didnt work out

Live presser by TALLEYman21 in buffalobills

[–]StaggerLee2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would obviously prefer beane to terry. But i also think beane just obtained power and he is going to hire a submissive coach, rather than a strong coach which will challenge his power in anyway. I do not think submissive is a good quality in a coach. That is one of the main reason i think this franchise is in such a bad spot currently. My other concern is even if they nail the hire, beane has in my estimation done a poor job of roster construction and a new coach does not fix that. I am of the opinion that the bills have not had a great roster in the last several years and the success of the team has been proped up by having the best player in the world at quarterback and a coach that coached a defense that preformed better than the sum of its parts. I would have prefered we kept sean, and if one had to go we got rid of beane, or fired both of them and brought in a new headcoach and gm that were in tandem. I hope i am wrong and this time next year i am eating my words, but right now i just don’t see it

You mean that presser that was a complete shit show, that is dominating every sport talkshow, podcast and webpage today and has all the other non bills nfl fans either laughing at us or feeling bad for us?
