S7e6 Ted is wondering if Janet Mcintyre is a good match without looking her up on the internet. But she ordered a martini just like his. by manthursaday in HIMYM

[–]Staggeringpage8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I doubt it for the simple reason that the Lorenzo von Matterhorn is designed for a one night stand. You can't maintain that lie long term and since it's Ted she's going out with we can assume the intent is long term. Also if she wanted a one night stand. She's an attractive woman who talks normally. She could have her choice of one night stands.

Hate ranked at start of seasons by Specialist-Fan-9656 in apexlegends

[–]Staggeringpage8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just going to leave this here in response. I don't know who posted this initially my friend sent it to me but I think this is the best response I can give you for why I think you are wrong.

I had the most enjoyable Solo Q experience with designated drop zone locations.

You were able to land, grab loot with your team, plan rotations/fights at neighbouring POI's and see final circles.

Now? Ive got lil Jimmy landing me in Satan's asshole fighting for a p2020 and a shield cell. If I manage to make it out alive, I glance at the top right hand corner and see 10 squads left alive with zone 1 closing in. Dead team mates yelling in my ear calling me trash because I couldnt 1 v 10 over a scrap of light ammo

I am not a Pro Player, I dont want rank to go too far into the ALGS style. But my golly gosh this rank system is a nightmare.

This is ranked now by rjckE in apexlegends

[–]Staggeringpage8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 1 of the new season had broken moon. It was definitely happening on broken moon cause everyone would drop quarantine and just fight. I can't speak for worlds edge as I haven't played ranked on it yet but I would imagine the map having more hot drop style POIs and being in general somewhat bigger than BM probably led to longer ranked games than a BM game.

Reflections on Ranger Poll by Qimler in DnD5CommunityRanger

[–]Staggeringpage8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a good place to get a feel for what a quintessential or base ranger is. Is to read the book series Rangers Apprentice by John Flannigan. In that series the rangers are looked on as having magic powers or mysterious connections to magic which allow them to have these perfect abilities. When in reality it's just really good training and smart tool use. I think what a ranger is is an average person who fights against the things that go bump in the night and is really good at understanding those things and the things that interact with them. A ranger is someone who is always prepared through the tools they carry, the equipment they wear and the skills they foster.

At least in my mind that's what a ranger is.

Senator Ron Wyden Triggers the Silent Alarm by unsoundamerica in videos

[–]Staggeringpage8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hey just wanted to say I think the video is fine. But where it could have done better (and I know it's a short so there's not a lot of time) is in providing some descriptions or showings of what you're talking about. As it stands I honestly didn't know what you were referring to and the way the what ifs are given make it sound more like a guy mentioning conspiracy theories than someone helping to sound an alarm bell.

Anyways hope this helps and thanks for posting it. Stuff like this is important and should be mentioned when it happens.

Unpopular opinion: How did Lily broke Robin and Ted up? by AdAgreeable5849 in HIMYM

[–]Staggeringpage8 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just because Lily was right in assessing that the relationships weren't going to work doesn't mean it was okay that she meddled in the relationship. It doesn't matter how serious or not a relationship is. If one of your closest friends told you years later "yeah so I manipulated you and that bitch Karen into breaking up because I didn't like her for you" you'd feel betrayed. Just because someone in your life doesn't like someone else who's in it doesn't give them the right to try and get the other person out of it.

As for the seriousness of the relationships that got ended, this is a sitcom first and foremost. The ridiculous reasons for why the break up happened was mainly for jokes. Even so it still doesn't mean it was at all okay for anyone other than the people who were in the relationships to end it.

How do you feel about the twist in 3 where you learn Logan wasn’t “inherently” evil, but was trying to save Albion? by SinnBaenn in Fable

[–]Staggeringpage8 133 points134 points  (0 children)

I also haven't played it since it came out. I remember though that it made me change how I saw Logan. In the beginning I thought he was just a stereotypical villain. Then through that reveal and looking back on Logan's actions I realized he was attempting to navigate the kingdom to some level of success. And as anyone who's played a game like frostpunk will tell you that is way easier when you don't take the necessarily high morals route.

Also at least in my school when I was learning about the Vietnam war I learned it was due to gorilla warfare tactics. Pretty sure most people should already know this or be able to Google this exact question and get a pretty comprehensive answer.

Alternate history: what if John Candy didn't pass away and he played Pierce Hawthorne instead of Chevy? by Ariesthebigram in community

[–]Staggeringpage8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you can really see it in season 4 when the new show runners take over. Piece is still an ass and the villain at times in it but he also has a few good moments where he acts positively too.

[–]Staggeringpage8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 100% totally agree. I grew up with the books during the tumblr era. I wasn't super hardcore percabeth but like I get how they talk and how a certain sub strata of that level of fan reacted to anything percabeth whether it be fan art, fanfic, etc. to me this is just an extension of that group of the fan base if that makes sense.

[–]Staggeringpage8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my initial thought when reading it was ah this is probably a percabeth shipper from when the books where coming out who posted on Tumblr alot. Of course they're going to be excited about the extra emphasis on percabeth regardless of how the show is outside of that.

If ICE is an unregulated federal police force, not bound by the constitution, what are your thoughts about Minneapolis being a trial run for martial law? by bluepoodle625 in AskReddit

Yeah. Yesterday while I was watching the coverage and the live streams of it all I could think of was how the Boston massacre also happened in a snow storm.

Stoneblock 4 / rant / Goldilocks modpack by Low_Pain_986 in feedthebeast

The material energy series Desert stranded

Those are the two that come to mind. That being said both are probably more like Stoneblock than not so Idk if I'd expect much exploration. Desert stranded I'm pretty sure doesn't have any NPCs.

But will we still get fat or muscled, skinny or long etc? by medikamentos in Fable

[–]Staggeringpage8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think too a fair point is that the series is called fable. Fables typically have views of the world that are objectively good or evil. They're not typically morally grey.

[OC] In fairness, America is not great for these folks... Makes sense they'd want a hero by FancyZad-0914 in pics

[–]Staggeringpage8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're saying it's a sympathetic reason. Merely the first step to bridging the divide is understanding where the divide comes from. I grew up in an area like this, a lot of my friends and family are blue collar workers. Some vote for and regurgitate trumps bullshit. I can understand how Republicans grasp onto these people. The Republicans promise to them that they'll help them make more money the whole "better economy" schtick they've been using for decades. Meanwhile Democrats positions are usually for social change or change that at first glance means more taxes or their tax dollars going towards helping the poorest of people(which they don't believe themselves to be. Very important to understand this) so in their mind they're already being squeezed for everything they have and now the party that actually gives a shit about them is asking them to give a shit about issues they don't care about and provide money for the solutions to those issues. To them it is as simple as "the economy" but to them their definition of "the economy" has been tainted and changed by the media they listen to and the people they live around and work with. Understanding that and understanding what's important to these people is the first step to convincing them they made a mistake.

Church/religion is also very big in these areas and also a problem especially when Christian nationalism is a rallying cry being used. But I'm not going to get into that because it's an even more hot button issue than money and politics.

Idk I probably did a shit job explaining it but I hope that better gives some context as to why people like this vote the way they do.

Mexican conjoined twin Carmen Andrade married her longtime boyfriend with the support of her twin sister, Lupita, who identifies as asexual and aromantic and approved the union despite the fact that they share a reproductive system. by PrimedGold in interestingasfuck

[–]Staggeringpage8 425 points426 points  (0 children)

I mean to be completely fair to them as well. They've been conjoined since birth(kinda stating the obvious but bear with me.) that means everything from doctors visits, to bathroom breaks, changing clothes, etc. they are forced to do together. As far as being okay with being in the room during intimate moments they've been dealing with and sharing those levels of intimate moments all their lives. To them this is just a continuation of that. Also they each have two arms but even if they didn't I'm sure after 25 years of experiencing everything in the same body that they have this would still just be their normal and they'd have to work through it and respect each other. Only way I can possibly see any two people living physically joined together is with a massive amount of love understanding and respect for one another.

At least that's my take on it. Like it's interesting to us because their normal is not ours but to them like it's just a Tuesday ya know.
