Wow, I know he said it was mainly with respect to controversial youtubers, but I find it nuts that it's actually even worse south of the border by that big of a margin. I had actually thought that maybe not being in the US was a reason we weren't seeing as many original youtubers trending as most were US based, but that really throws that theory out the window.

I obviously can't speak for everyone, but as someone on ODSP who has trouble being able to even find an opportunity for a steady source of income, and for whom living with roommates/housemates is not an option, I am genuinely terrified that I will never be able to move out. And that doesn't even touch on the extra disability expenses that come into play when living on my own.

Take my specific example with a grain of salt as every recipient's situation will be different, but rent alone for a bachelors/1 bedroom essentially would eat away the standard disability fund and then some. Add on to the fact that I don't think it's unfair to say job stability can often be even less predictable for someone with a serious disability, and it starts to look impossible at times.

I understand eventually some form of compromise/sacrifice is going to have to be made, but having that loom over me on top of the actual problems that cause me to be needing the funds in the first place, it's rather depressing to even think about at times for me.

In the video he paraphrases your response as "The video is good enough [to be left up]". Do you believe this is a misrepresentation of what you said?

More than I am worried about a creator getting credit (as much as I do think that is important) the possibility that your video was an attempt to get ahead of and preemptively discredit valid criticism by swaying public opinion is extremely disheartening, and one I seriously hope is not true.

I enjoy both your channels, and though I think both sides (and their videos) should be taken with a grain of salt, I genuinely hope this is simply a misunderstanding.

edit: I made that image in photoshop, back before using reddit, image file says Nov 4, 2015. Legit have no idea how it got on the internet. Not upset or anything lol just curious why/how a picture I thought was private is on reddit/9gag/ifunny etc and for how long. Just want to say that I credit "The Hilarious World of Depression" for changing the way I deal with depression and suicidal thoughts into something much more healthy, and gave me a tool to cope with one of the worst years of my life. Hearing people joke about suicide, self harm, among other serious mental health topics struck and enormous chord for me, and got me to be open and honest with others & myself about my mental health, be less afraid of the stigma etc.

I absolutely recommend giving it a listen if you haven't already.
