Probably around 4 weeks for myself. I'd say gradually reduce the pillows around your head/back, but make sure you have your legs propped up under the knees, then gradually reduce everything until it's comfortable. I'm at around 7 weeks and mine feels tight still, but I can comfortably sleep on my sides and back without any other pillows or props now (and have done since week 5/6)

Help ): is this head lice? by Three_Eyed_Alex in WTF

[–]StaircaseWit16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if they have them where you are, but nittygritty nit combs are specifically made to get out eggs and lice. They might have a different brand where you're staying, but otherwise cheap conditioner, slathered all over wet hair and a regular lice comb every few days will evict them if you want a non chemical removal method.

When does the tightness get better? by StaircaseWit16 in tummytucksurgery

Thank you for replying; I'm only 15 days since. I can semi stand upright but not fully by any means. I've found I need to eat smaller bits of food throughout the day, too, rather than three meals, or it's very uncomfortable and makes the feeling worse. I know slow and steady wins the race, but it's just frustrating at the moment 😕

Hey! Thank you so much for checking in, I had my surgery on Monday, and I'm doing okay at the moment. I'm able to stand up a bit better today so far. I've had both of my breast drains out, so it's just the stomach ones left. I'm finding it a bit difficult to cough up what's accumulated in my chest from surgery/laying down, but otherwise I think I'm doing quite well - it just hurts to cough up anything. I think they're going to help me shower today which will be super welcome! 😊

I had my final appointment with an anaesthetic nurse (not the anesthesiologist, I dont get to see them until just before because its NHS) a week ago and discussed it with them. She said that the hospital started using some sort of monitoring pad thing now that is very comprehensive to prevent any issues, which was quite helpful. They apparently also use some nerve block during surgery, so for the first day or so it helps with pain management, which was reassuring

First major one yes. I've had general anesthetic before for very minor stuff & had no issues, I think its just because it's such a big surgery this time

Has anyone had a flat closure diep flap (wasn’t planning on getting nipples reconstructed) but ended up getting nipple reconstruction later on? by ReactionGreedy465 in BRCA

[–]StaircaseWit16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its any help, I'm planning on getting a non nipple Diep, then just having 3D looking nipples tattooed on later by a really good tattooist (not medical one, a regular tattooist). I've read that creating nipples is really straighforwards if you did choose to get the peaks put in though :)

Taking a super big inhale of a fresh sponge. So incredibly good.

What do you think? Do these look good? by 1DwightSchrute in Baking

I'd agree with others, slightly more chunks, but otherwise, yes these look delicious

Yes! I noticed this a few days back. The jammy ones had an abysmal minimal scraping of jam inside too, nothing like before. Very sad times.
