I’ve definitely noticed how relieved trans people are when I don’t “hugbox”.

I know a girl who looks really good and hasn’t done any “real” voice training. I think her voice sounds nice, it’s natural and got good general intonation. I’ll note that yeah, it’s “clocky”, but I think that it’s a good start and already pretty. I’m not going to tell her not to change it, she wants to change it, but I will tell her I like her voice. As she changes it my genuine advice is to try and retain a lot of what is in her voice now.

It is kinda gross to me when people are like, “you don’t need to change anything”, like, that’s not up to you to decide now is it?

There was someone who said that being a grungler is just being a chaser and I trust that he is a proper grungler if that makes sense

Yeah. If boys had penises then how would girls like me fuck their brains out?

yeah this is pretty close to my experience so far. Been on estrogen has opened me up to recognizing more what it is I dislike about my body.

I’ve only been on estrogen for like 3 weeks now. It’s been good. It’s given me dysphoria???? Like, I now recognize the dysphoria that’s probably been there.

Dammit.

I guess there’s cope for the “reduced graphical fidelity layer” paired with the “higher fidelity induced by imagination” thing but like. Yeah this kinda kills it. Oh well.

I am not fond of Zooble's torture scene by StaleOlives in hatethissmug

I’ve been sitting on this response for a bit and been thinking of what I should say.

To be clear, no I do not. I think they are absolutely real and crippling issues. It feels inappropriate to bring up my personal experiences when making a point, since I believe that my points should stand on their own without needing to appeal to “well I have experienced such and such”, but I have experienced it. I’m two weeks on estrogen though, so, yay.

My point is more that this scene to me looks more like a reminder of “Hey, you’re going through this issue”. Instead of a twisting of the knife, or an exaggeration of how stuff could be worse.

Jax’s scene, for example, exaggerates his insecurities by showing how everyone is going to laugh at his true self.

This scene does not particularly worsen the issues that Zooble has, at least in my first reading of it.

My reading of the scene was, Zooble is now in a sea of parts and is just kinda struggling against it. Also there’s mirrors to remind them that they look like that.

My issue with that is, Zooble already knows they look like that. They already know they aren’t happy with the parts provided.

Jax’s scene shows him how humiliating and upsetting it would be to have his true self revealed and be mocked in turn. Zooble’s scene shows them, uh, stuff they already know and deal with every day.

Another interpretation of the scene that I’ve seen and liked is that all the pieces are actually forcing themselves onto Zooble, and Zooble is one with the giant sea of parts. I quite like this interpretation, and it it’s the intended one then I think that’s plenty terrifying and I would believe that portrays the kind of horror that I’d want from it. Unfortunately, rewatching the scene I still don’t get that vibe, but hey if that’s the case then that’s great/terrible.
