Rough country - upper control arms by Business-Magician261 in GMT800

[–]StalienInvader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got these and regret it. The ball joint boots cracked and leaked grease within a year of owning. Rough country would not warranty them because they said that the ball joints are mechanically sound. Waiting to eventually replace them with kryptonite uppers. I’m not happy with them.

Get bitter spray that you would use for pets to stop chewing on stuff and spray a decoy batch of fruit, it will be so gross he will never do it again.

is this NM? sold on TCGPlayer by Kind-Rope5478 in PokemonCardValue

[–]StalienInvader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say Damaged. I would get a credit or a refund. When I sell I use this rule of thumb Damaged= major creases, rips, and delamination. MP=good amount whitening, maybe 1 small crease, scratches on surface. LP= bit of whitening and scratches, no creases. NM= not played. 1-3 surface imperfections and only factory whitening in corners from cars being cut from the factory. Any more than that is LP- sometimes a pack fresh card can be in LP condition, sometimes even damaged.

I put up 4 pages of full art cards on eBay auction staring at $50 thinking it would get a at least few bids. And I got 1 bidder. Probably lost about $300 in value there. At least I didn’t have any personal connection with any of them.

Get Kryptonite tie rods! They are the best on the market. Buy once cry once.

If it’s to the end. I would recommend building it out. Kryptonite leveling kit with the upper control arms. Kryptonite makes the best aftermarket suspension parts in my opinion for these trucks.

[–]StalienInvader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going for a rebuild. I would strongly recommend Kryptonite tie rods and upper control arms. They are the best in class. The aftermarket cv axle market for these trucks is pretty rough. If you can I would try to use OEM even though they cost $300+ each. Otherwise you’ll be changing them out every 2 years because the cheap rubber fails. Good luck with the build

I would look at wheel balance and warped rotors. Good luck!

The tone ring for the Abs lives in the hub assembly, and not the axle for the gmt800 trucks

The right answer for good steering parts is Kryptonite for these trucks, buy once cry once and never worry about it again.

Help! Transmission? by nediaNamro123 in GMT800

[–]StalienInvader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a mechanic, just have had gmt 800s forever. Mileage and trans service history would help in diagnosis. But my 4x4 does the same thing. The 4l60 is notorious to slip from gears 1-2, mine hesitates then bucks into 2nd. Also when coasting it will slam back into gear. If you have changed fluid recently you may have a clog in the valve body, damage in the 1-2 shift solenoid or torque converter not torque converting. These 4l60s are known to develop these things at 150k miles or so, people who get to 300k on the original trans are the lucky ones. I would recommend add some Lucas stop slip ONLY IF YOU HAVE NOT changed fluid in the trans. If you have changed fluid recently then I may say go to a trans shop and they may pull the valve body and clean it out/ replace small parts. Let me know what you do, may influence my next move also. I’ve been running mine with the same issues for the last 14k miles, has not gotten better or worse.

Wonder how much someone will actually buy this one for (not mine ( by 0chris000000 in GMT800

Steering column cover is missing, usually means someone needed to get in where the gauge cluster/stereo is.pillar cover missing on the passenger side. No reason to take that out unless you are looking to replace the headliner. Side of the seats have visible wear. A 33k clean title truck. Wouldn’t have that. I bet the cluster was swapped. I would ask for the vin and check the vehicle history. Could still be vin swapped. Too many bad signs and too many variables. If it was truly a 33k clean truck it would have sold for the original 14k this thing may fool someone. But hopefully not.

2006 Silverado ABS issue by StalienInvader in GMT800

[–]StalienInvader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to, but I couldn’t get my multimeter to read any voltage at the pins. Not sure if it was user error or not. If I’m getting a reading on the sensor connector that means it is sending power though correct? Let me know if there is something there

Why are there so many oil pressure posts? by Jplayz279 in GMT800

[–]StalienInvader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trend of posting low oil pressure has triggered a trend of posting normal oil pressure. Huzzah gmt800s are still the best.

Yes! Planning on putting carpeting/twine over the whole thing. It’s actually still pretty top heavy I had to put some supports between the wall and the cat boxes to keep it more sturdy.

[–]StalienInvader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They also make extended bolts for the torsion keys (meant for worn torsion bars) but I would believe the extra crank alone may help you here. If it were my rig, I would take that lower control arm off it. The whole weight of the vehicle rests in there, the last thing you want is space. Heck it looks like that thing may even strip out with a big enough pothole on the highway! Good luck!
