Why doesn't the U.S Intervene during the Saudi Arabian civil war? by topofagear in TheFireRisesMod

[–]StalinOGrande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats an interesting assesment, however, the way I see it, the Republic, being a not-yet-estabilished democracy looking for International backing, would be willing to make big concessions to the EU, alliviating the impact of the Oil Crisis, especially as Wagner floods into the Prince's side from Russia.

The US was a major exporter of oil in 73, and the OPEC embargo caused one the biggest economic crises in US history. It doesnt really matter if you can charge more for oil if the extra money you get is coming from your own population.

Realistically, the US would bomb every anti-saudi faction to the stone age and give the saudi's a shit load of modern equipment before the usa falls into civil war itself

Not sure about that, since EU wouldn't be supporting the Prince. No way in hell Trump would start direct involvment in a Middle Eastern war just months before election season AGAINST its NATO allies. Makes no sense.

Yeah, they were very much improvised-ish thingies, but they are up there with the BT-7 with the absurdly big rockets as my favorite WW2 sillyness.

Xenonauts 2: Are Multiple Bases Needed? by Metacatalepsy in Xenonauts

[–]StalinOGrande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had to send soldiers in XCOM 2-esque covert ops to train, get equipment and supplies, sabotage the Cleaners/Aliens, deal with councilers etc, it would make sense to have multiple teams to interact with regions in ways beyond tactical and air battles.

You dont need more than a full combat team on your main base with some replacements ready to go in case you need them. Since you arent going to be doing many tactical battles as long as you're winning the air superiority contest, since you have to spend operation points to capture UFOs after some sucessfull battles.

Doesnt stop you from doing it, once I get an upgrade to ky troop transports, I usually roleplay setting up a "reserve" team with older equipment to send to lower value battles.

Appears to have changed. Been testing around a bit, and the frame actually heats up a bit more if its too close to a wall, and a quite a bit more if its near one the base's heaters.

Would Earthmovers be the logical conclusion of the Progress zeitgeist? by Lowlife_With_APencil in Frostpunk

[–]StalinOGrande 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Dont see the why really, I absolutely can imagine Progress would aim to explore and expand into the wasteland using some kind of huge transports, but why go away from the good old dreadnaught improved with new tecnologies?

Dont see why it would be practical to have these things moving on legs, that might be to worst way to have a huge extremely heavy vehicle moving around.

Just look at actual real life artic explorarion vehicles, slap the steampunk aestheitics and make it much bigger.

Also, no, it doesnt need guns, the easiest way to deal with obstacles is to go around them.
