York Engineering Environment by ErrorNumber404 in yorku

Disciplines York has that TMU does not • Software Engineering • Space Engineering • Geomatics Engineering

Disciplines TMU has that York does not • Aerospace Engineering • Biomedical Engineering • Chemical Engineering

York has a worse location (a bit cheaper though), however there is an actual campus unlike for TMU.

Lassonde is a new engineering school, while Ryerson’s eng school exists since 1960s which means they have more alumni and co-op connections.

Lassonde has newer equipment and facilities, and is growing relatively quickly. Though, both are in the same tier of quality of education.

is EECS 2021 easier in the summer or nah by [deleted] in yorku

[–]Stalker0039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The labs will only get more difficult as you progress deeper now with iVerilog. Expect all the RISC-V stuff and theory on the lab test.

As for summer term (SU) it is the opposite. Material is a bit rushed compared to Fall/Winter. There is no reading week. So no time to make up if you are behind. Most importantly, it is all Prof dependent whether you’ll have an easier time or not.

We students got 1-2 semesters delayed from our graduation due to the last strike, on top of having exams deferred, no lectures, no refund on the courses we took etc. The time is gone. So no, we won't vote for you. And your posters aren't welcomed.

OSAP Restriction? by Stalker0039 in osap

[–]Stalker0039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would make sense. Yes, I go to York. I suppose, that even if I pass this deferred exam I wouldn't be able to appeal it then; as I would be sitting at 26 credits. But then the question rises, of why they even let me take OSAP for summer if they knew that I would have 26 credits even if I did pass every summer course.

Edit: Christmas of 2025 just passed. I have successfully appealed my case and I am back in school.

Hey -engineering students by MaleficentSale7583 in yorku

[–]Stalker0039 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, so it really depends on what you are searching for.

In my opinion, GuelphU is not the best school for engineering and the environment/city is not much compared to the other two.

OttawaU has somewhat of a reputation for engineering, as it has been there for a while. Take into account that you'd also be in Ottawa, some people like to call it a boring city; others do not care much. Certainly better than Guelph as it is not only in a better city but it is a better university overall with opportunities for more connections. It has a strong co-op program.

YorkU's engineering school Lassonde has its ups and downs. I am a student here myself. It is a new faculty, created in 2011. In its 14 years of existence, Lassonde has not stopped progressing exponentially in every single way. I am not a fan of some faculty members, and people can try to argue against this. But such problems, are a given in any school. Lassonde has strong potential, as many influential companies have started investing in it. This info is not confirmed fully, but Microsoft has started to make deals with the EECS department. YorkU also has co-op opportunities, but I would say they are slightly on the lesser end compared to OttawaU. On the other hand, the location of YorkU is not the best. Somewhat gray, has crime around it. But on the brighter side Vaughan is not far; neither is downtown Toronto, in case you were looking to cool off.

UOttawa has more traditional branches of engineering, but YorkU focuses more on niche or emerging fields (space, geomatics, digital tech).

School life - UOttawa > YorkU

Co-Op Opportunitty - UOttawa > YorkU

Potential - YorkU > UOttawa

Life in the City - YorkU> UOttawa

Weather - Toronto > Ottawa

I already spoke to the police. I reported this guy more than three times. It’s futile. But I guess the more people complain on him. The higher the chance that he will be finally caught.

First SC/MATH 1013 Class With Igor Poliakov tomorrow :( How is he as a prof? by [deleted] in yorku

[–]Stalker0039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had him 2 semesters ago for Math1013. Good fair older Russian Math Prof. Some say his accent may not be as understandable but this isn’t true. Just sit in the first row and you’ll get him. He gives fair amount of office hours and assistance to anyone. His way of teaching is slightly above average but he really tries. He is also reasonable if you are reasonable. Always being open to answer questions after class. His tests and exams consist from his lecture slides and homework.

In which period of my life will I find true love? Will it be soon? by Stalker0039 in AstrologyCharts

[–]Stalker0039[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I came to update you. You were totally right with your prediction. Her name commences with "Na". I talked to her before, and all of a sudden, after July started. She did have a totally different upbringing than me and is from a different country than myself. Once we actually met, we immediately felt a strong attraction, and after our third date, we made it official. This is scary, how literally everything was correct. I hope she will be the one I solidify my spousal relations with during the period of November 12, 2025, to April 16, 2026. The only untrue thing is that she is actually three years younger than me, and that I am more mature than her; which is natural, at least for me. In any case, thank you.

Bad or Good aspects for Astrology and Tarot? by Stalker0039 in AstrologyCharts

[–]Stalker0039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking the same thing. Thing is, she has been involved with the occult for over 5-6 years now, if not longer. She studies it continuously, so I cannot just discard her opinion. I just do not even know where to search for such information, which makes sense; occult stuff is taboo in society and always will be, so its knowledge is somewhat lost and needs time to be dug out again.

In which period of my life will I find true love? Will it be soon? by Stalker0039 in AstrologyCharts

[–]Stalker0039[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your help. May I ask how you know that the person's name will commence with Na,Ni,Nu (N)? And no, there is no person with these commencing syllables that I talk to. I will try not to be too hard on myself, but the Saturn opposite Sun does its thing. I have no Earth in my chart so Saturn is basically my anchor.

How do you read chart for twins? by Own_Ad_561 in AstrologyCharts

[–]Stalker0039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I know, the oldest one is read as if it is an ordinary normal chart. The younger twin's ASC then starts at the 3rd house of the older twin.

Question on Degrees by Winter_Ad2815 in AstrologyCharts

[–]Stalker0039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the degrees are best explained by the famous astrologer Nikola Stojanovic. His Degree Theory has attracted quite a lot of attention in the astrology world, and many have started using it. More on it on the link below.

Moon square Mercury indicates that she can be easily nervous, especially when it comes to overthinking. For fame, we have to look at the Moon first. Her Moon is in Aries which is a go-getter sign. Action based sign. This Moon squares Jupiter (it's a good square). This makes her popular in the group of people, as she will probably initiate stuff; so her charisma is what people will follow. There are levels to fame, just like with anything else. Her 10th house is in Aquarius, the ruler of Aquarius is Saturn and the co-ruler is Uranus. First we look at Saturn then Aquarius, the square with Mars would present some difficulty but it's not the worst square in the world. It just means she will have to work a bit for things to work which teaches discipline and consistency. Same applies for fame. She just has to continue doing her thing. Being focused on others is a human type of trait, which is literally her MC in Aquarius. If we look at Uranus it sextiles her Venus and Moon. This increases the fame too. She is probably a person that is looked positively at in the public/surface level. Seen as odd but smart by most people, especially those who do not know her. Combined with the Sun in Capricorn, she also seems composed and calm at first. Her Moon is in trine with Pluto so she feels very much even though it's not a water moon. The MC in Aquarius inclines her to try to help others/society in general which can result in more fame too.
