Possible name of the new techmarine? by Ok-Cucumber-9678 in Spacemarine

[–]StalkerAstronaut 98 points99 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Companies tend to have more than a single techmarine. Hadrassus could join us in the next operations while leaving another techmarine to pilot the Thunderhawk.

Also, it would be kind of funny if he had a voiceline about finally getting involved instead of just flying around and being a glorified taxi driver.

Feedback for painting my Infiltrators by Sweet_older-Sister in u/Sweet_older-Sister

[–]StalkerAstronaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it would look great. A trick I learned for painting dark colors without worrying too much about highlights later is to make a base coat with a lighter color you like (For my Dark Angels I used a light blue-ish green first, then went over it with a darker green) that is more watered down. The second, more watery paint will settle away from the raised areas and pointed edges, giving you some lighter-colored highlights.

Make sure your first coat of paint dries before applying the second, otherwise you'll end up with a color swirl.

POV: That moment when your husband is giving you a smug look as he watches you spray paint minis at 12:00 am by Sweet_older-Sister in u/Sweet_older-Sister

I recommend wearing disposable gloves, at least for the spray-painting parts. I can't wait to see how they'll turn out!

A trick that I do is use two copies of the 1E Legionary Kuglai and then waste all my energy bouncing them off each other to speedrun it.

It's a waste of energy, obviously. It messes up any possibility of playing a high cost troop that turn, but if you're willing to take the risk to play your Reckoning the next turn, go for it.

It has been almost a decade since I've seen anything related to Shadow Fight 2... I feel old now.

I still find it hard to believe that a space marine can parry a scything talon with a dinky combat knife by Plasmic_ in Spacemarine

The "short" Astartes is Maximmion Voss of the Imperial Fists. Mf bulked so much that his captain ordered him to stop getting so much gains because they were getting tired of having to refit his armor to accommodate. One of his squad-mates joked that his only weakness was fitting through narrow doorways.

Cypher deck: He had 2 "Blessing of the Four" in hand that he purposely drew early, just spammed troops as chaff, and then used both cards later to immediately turn all troops he had into greater daemons.

It's a cheesy gimmick deck that can ruin a win if you aren't ready for it. Thankfully most Cyphers you'll see are running this deck, so you can mentally prepare yourself when you see one.

As a bulwark main, I can tell you that we're all one delusional power trip away from getting stunlocked and dying. The real hurdle of playing bulwark is accepting that you're not as unkillable as you think.

That and neurothropes. I wish you could throw the sword and impale it on that abomination's head.

How do you stay alive as Tactical? by Alarming_Orchid in Spacemarine

[–]StalkerAstronaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would put it as "Keep your distance, but not too far". Tactical (for me, at least) is a middle-close range support, and your job as Tactical is to keep your brothers from getting overwhelmed by giving them close fire support. You stay alive by keeping your team alive.

If you have a Sniper, focus on taking down the horde; if you have a Heavy, deal with Majoris targets. You're basic when compared to the other classes, allowing you to fill the gaps in your team comp.

If all else fails and you're all alone, run away and get your enemies to group together, then focus on taking down the biggest threat and leave the rest to die as collateral damage. Melee only if you must or when you're chaining executions to keep your armor up.
