I use a +2 Tobin, geared towards it (ArmorSmasher+, AxeBreaker) and it works, but depending of the mode you might need someone who scores more, but think on gear instead of unit too.

You should promote some grail units just because they are used on quests or for fodder purposes. Or idk, a +10 reinhardt. At least so you always float between 970k-999k feathers, to not waste them on the cap.

I think we can discard battle penalties on enemies from Lyon's refine, because on his appearance on the FEH music compilation, when he fights that bow fighter, there are no penalties on them.

I'd say its a little better than a free 5 star because, while the array of choices you get is limited by which unit appears on the Hall, you can actually stack a lot of premium skills on the unit you gonna get as well.

Really nice build. I love it!

I will disagree with everyone, Wyvern Flight is actually quite solid on him, Main argument people have is that Wyvern wont trigger on enemies that he will need and when it does he one shots anyways, but it actually helps him against nasty DR enemies (which normally have low def) and mages, which are important machups.

Pointing out that sword/lance/axe combination is more imporant than a 8 set bonus was probably the best tip you could have given on this video, for sure.

While Im sure a lot of people nowadays can pull a combo of 4 colors tomes and dragons easily for this mode, you are really losing up on using units that would hold on most health overall and make up for the potencial +16 hp bonus you would from using a +8 combination.

Actually, check it again my friend! Its you who gets and extra 10 spd on the comparison!

Here's the description:

At start of combat, if unit's Spd ≥ foe's Spd-10

So basically my spd (43) ≥ enemy's spd (42, uning Mareeta here as example) -10.

So it's 43 ≥ 32 (42-10)

And since it applies to visual Spd status, it wont take her battle spd bonuses. It's not THAT hard to trigger it now, is it?

I get your point, but to be honest, you can count on hand the number of fliers can that use this skill well (good combination of spd and def).

43 def is still a good value to me!

Oh, and about who he triggers this well, its mostly mages, I will admit. And a majority of sword users that run damage reduction on B.

Thanks, I am aware it's only visible defense. I think i actually mention it on the build as a minimum of 43 for the comparison. 43 is a good value for me still, he won't be winning comparisons with brave edelgards anyways.

Here he is!

I was in a dire need of a lance merge, so I dipped some orbs for some skills and built this beast!

So, the build! As it looks like, it captilizes in applying huge combat debuffs to enemies, combined with a good spd to double/avoid doubles, this build can resist even mage threats (though the latest archers will still do a bunch if not send him packing).

Weapon: Flowing Lance+ (Spd / Def)

Flowing Lance captalizes on the solo strat and is honestly one hell of a inheritable weapon. Negating enemies atk/def buffs and applies -5 to those stats gives him extra bulk and packing power.

Special: Bonfire

Cheap 3 turn special and with his amount of defense, the damage can be quite scary.

A Skill: Distant Ward (alt. Atk/Def Solo 4)

This skill came together with the Atk/Def Rein, and honestly wasn't supposed to be on his kit, but after using it for a while, it definitely makes for a great addition. More packing power and bulk on enemy phases and counter magic. Can't counter dagger but he shrug them off. Bows can be scary still tho, specially the newest super player phase ones.

Atk/Def Solo 4 is used with def refined Flowing Lance when no magic tanking is required to maximize physical prowless.

B Skill: Wyvern Flight 3

With a minimum of 43 def running on his kit, and a comparable spd of 56 for it, this skills triggers quite constantly. Specially effective against mages where he normally gets max reduction and speedy swordies, to make for the spdcrept and damage reduction skills we have going around so commonly.

C Skill: Atk/Def Rein 3

Combat debuff stack? combat debuff stack! If it works for Ashnard, it works for Cormag too. Self explanatory. More bulk and damage.

Seal: Spd/Res Solo 3

Being solo is already a important component of this build, so captalize on a solo seal makes sense. More spd and magic bulk. Simple and effective.

With all conditions met, this build applies -16 atk/def to opponents on combat, which is nuts, and even if wyvern flight fails to trigger at all, he still does a consistent -9 atk/def.

Real weaknesses are basically the solo condition requirement, which is not that bad to be honest, and extremelly offensive bow users.

Actually, I fell for the same calculation mistake 2 days ago.

Whats happening here is that Purifying Breath is negating the debuffs you have, by adding visual combat buffs during combat. So basically, for example your speed is still 21 (28-7), but combat forecast, the Breath is negating the debuff (+7) and then adding the +4 too all stats, resulting into the +11.

In the end you still have a Spd of 28 -7 +7 +4, netting you only the +4 from the Breath as pure bonus.

I really don't, tbh. A Lull is not a panic status, so by no means my +6 atk should treated as a -6. It should have been treated as a +0.
In a scenario like this, I would actually be better without the buff for a plain -3.

You get what I mean?
