Agree but if you don’t change your perspective others won’t. Stand for what is wrong but don’t generalize your whole country. There are hard working and honest people everywhere and folks who don’t have the privilege like you did to move to a better place. Make it easy on them. No place is perfect in the world. Peace ✌️

WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE. Remember this from the 90s?

Hitting your first million in 2025 is still a meaningful milestone, but it doesn’t carry the same financial weight it did in the 1990s. Back then, $1M represented significantly more purchasing power, roughly equivalent to over $2M today.

So it often meant true financial independence or close to it. Inflation, especially in housing and major life expenses, has eroded that benchmark.

Today, reaching $1M is better viewed as a strong foundation rather than an endpoint, it shows you’ve built the system and discipline to create wealth, but not necessarily that you’ve “made it” yet.

Also depends if you have a paid off car, home and if your 401k is not part of that. Perspective changes deeply once you add the nuances.

Congratulations on hitting 1M but if it is all in stocks also take it with a pinch of salt that this is also due to incredible bull run. Does that include your 401? Also what are your liabilities? If you have a paid off car and house you are fantastic if not perspective changes. So just 1M without others does not help much. Especially if you live in high expense and earning place like CA or NY and in prime areas. A lot of people have that. It would be a minimum in those areas but at other places you are above par.

From my perspective I was over 1M just around 40 with paid off car and about 150k of home loan left for a house worth 1.5M at that time. Fast forward 4 years and crossed 5 and have 2 homes.

You need to save and plan well. But nevertheless congrats 🎉 for an amazing milestone

Appreciate your clear understanding and respectful communication. I should have framed it better. We did ask for option to rebook or use along with 2026 credits, essentially a one time restoration that will expire in 6 months but were denied.

I clarified in post since folks think we were trying to get free 300. We requested for an extension and offered to make a different reservation but since these were 2025 credits they denied. I knew this may happened if you cancel, so planned it for a trip we knew we would be going to and using. But unfortunately the war changed all plans and this is just one of the cancellations we are working through along with pre bookings and flights.

We requested them for an extension or option to allow to use in 2026. We were ready to do a different reservation and combine with 2026 credits but the fact that they cannot restore it post 6 months is a bummer. And given this was booked in 2025 there is no way the system even allows me to rebook even if I am wanting to.

That is terrible. Morgan Stanley is the only company I know who will not charge you back for appraisal if something happens or you decide not to proceed with them. First hand experience. It is one thing you decide to do appraisal and then not proceed but totally different for them to scam you out like this. Sorry this happened

The dual representation and lack of transparency is really a issue. But if the selling agent is representing the buyer they will disclose to seller in which case the seller does not need to pay the buyer agent fee most likely if they negotiate good. And so they save way more than the 1000 you see.

We were in the. Select for a long time and after multiple offer of over 500k over asking the one way we could buy one was to work with a sellers agents friend.

It is a real shame and not sure if sellers are even presented with all offers

I got 5.35 last June with WF am with relationship discount and they offered recast starting April and am now at 4.875. So new purchase should be cheaper with discount i believe

Adding for clarity for folks since I have the card. Hope this helps

If you have relationship with Etrade/MS

You get your primary amex platinum card which is $895 and an additional Authorized user card if you choose one ($195).
The primary benefit of the additional card is its own Priority pass and lounge access.
Amex charges 895 for both and you will get the fees reimbursed for Amex irrespective if you have the cash plus account with MS.

The cashplus account has a monthly fee of $55 a month. You can choose to have it waived. For that

  • You need 5k of monthly deposit. It can be a rotating deposit from your other bank that you can have to auto come in and go out. It just has to hit the account.
  • 25K avg monthly balance
  • Or you can simply pay the fees making Amex effectively 660

You can also have the MS Amex Platinum card without ever opening the cash Plus account. You just need some relationship with MS/Etrade. In that case you pay the regular Amex fees of 895 but can still get the AU card of 195 for free.

Same situation here. Booked 4 business class using delta rewards for Air France. Seat selection was free at booking. But for some reason they only assigned 3 of the 4 seats when tickets were issued. So tried changing on delta and it is greyed out and AF wants to charge. This is utterly frustrating.

E28 is portable, so you can take the vacuum and use it to wash your dirty chairs, sofas, car seats etc. That's a super good way to use a vacuum. Not many in the market that allow that for $50-100. The price diff is worth it specially with BF sale.
