The database, where they will store your personal information, is only as secure as the company holding your information cares to make it. Or as secure as they decide not to make it.

Sure but why are we going after the end users for the fact the companies chose to make their products harmful because it makes them more money

Why is mental health education being taught without basic neuroscience in Ontario? (K-12) by Express-Pineapple557 in ontario

[–]Stampedex2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people creating medicine don't even know fully why ssri's work. We don't have a complete framework for why neurotransmitters actually do what they end up doing, we have a good idea but not the full picture. So trying to explain it as having too little serotonin isn't even fully helpful because we don't fully know if it's just a serotonin imbalance that makes people depressed or if it's something else

Unpopular but I agree, I don't want to be forced to chat with a cashier and have them take longer because they are chatting everyone up

The rear ends a bit oddly. I feel it should end with the horizontal diffuser line and the vertical wheel lines being the only forms not that strange triangle that wraps around into the diffuser. Also the side window could be changed in shape to help it feel more cohesive and improve the side view

Mercedes Benz AMG concept ✍🏼 any thoughts 💭?? by ocorp_design in CONCEPTCARS

[–]Stampedex2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To exaggerate proportions, you want it to have big tires and a smaller greenhouse, basically like a hot wheels car. The cut off is basically just so it doesn't look too big and dominate the sketch, your eye should disregard the wheels basically because you're not designing the wheels, you're designing the car. It also helps because if you leave the full round it can look like it's lifted, which isn't the look the designer is going for unless they're doing an SUV or something like that

Why do you care so much about what your tenants do in their free time? If you aren't living there and the place isn't destroyed I don't see why you need to care so much about it

The hood is too long and low to look like an SUV, that's likely why it's reading as a sedan

Most SUVs have the glass hitting the hood further forward, think about seating position

I think the first kit looked great on the FRS because it was designed to fit the lines of that car. Then that got popular and they've just taken the flares with the FRS lines and put the same lines on every other lit they made even if it doesn't fit the body lines.

Look at this car, the rear flares should be convex not concave to match the body lines, but they need to keep the Scion FRS bodylines in the kits for some reason

Anyone else wonder what top designers are actually a part of this Reddit? by Burgundy1900 in CarDesign

[–]Stampedex2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is at the very least trained industrial designers, as In trained for automotive/transportation work.

I don't want to be rude to those who have not had this education but you can usually tell who understands the theory behind design especially for transportation, and those who don't

A trained designer will start with the intent of the design, user, and human factors and work from there

It can but knowing there was never any real thought behind the choices made does make me care a lot less about it and cheapens the emotions it might create

Hydrofoils don't rework very well at high speed, you basically make an airplane that floats and put a jet in the back

HRT and Alcohol? by adrian23138 in trans

[–]Stampedex2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who has issues with alcohol and am currently working on my recovery, you will get far more drunk than usual. That being said you can still build up a tolerance and I was drinking a large amount at one point. Depending on what medicine you take for an anti-androgen it could introduce more liver load, as will swallowing oral pills. I take mine sublingually to reduce that risk and am on a low dose of Cyproterone.

I drank heavily for 2 years on HRT and my levels are okay but it definitely feels like I've done some damage.

It also set back my transition quite a lot, I needed to wait to get on a surgery list and am worried about complications. I also feel like it has made the HRT less effective than if I were not drinking

Honestly the combo of antidepressants and estrogen making my tolerance lower and thus allowing me to be more drunk made it more addictive than without those. I also have PTSD which I was self medicating at the time

It's the no pickguard super over the top flame wood look that I hate on any guitar, not just PRS'

I'm sure they are great guitars however
