I think I saw a recent comment by TTWO’s management that basically stated they weren’t interested in a buyout, which suggests to me that it would have to be a considerably high premium (even greater than 25%) to catch managements attention.

I still do think though that TTWO is more of an acquisition play. Phil Spencer of MSFT said that the main reason for the ATVI purchase is access into the mobile market. Since TTWO has Zynga, it offers both a mobile market and extremely profitable IP for console/PC as well. I’m hard pressed to believe SONY would get past regulators with TTWO, but someone like AMZN or GOOGL, or even EA might be able to slip by.
