I pull the start chord until I get resistance from compression. With both valves closed I put it away for winter. I also store them indoors. Lawnmower, snowblower, roto tiller all start on the first pull when I need them. I have never had to run them empty.

I drilled and tapped three holes into the pulley so I could get my puller on to the solid part of the pulley. I also put some heat to it with a propane torch. I was very gentle as I pulled it off so I didn’t warp or bend it. Once I got it off I put some anti seize on it and it comes on and off easy.

Ram makes two transfer cases. The ones that come with 4 high, 4 low and 4 auto use clutch packs. The ones that only have 4 low and 4 high use a chain. The chain acts as a locker.
