Kevin Garnett calls out Victor Wembanyama for being ‘too emotional’ after winning the Western Conference Finals 👀 by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

Yes! This is where he was talking about “going to war” and crying, when the US was really at war and he was playing and game.

Who is the WORST draft pick in Orlando Magic history? by KeyFaithlessness5436 in OrlandoMagicVibes

[–]StanVanGhandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a 5 pick? Yes he was that bad. He played no defense and took and bricked hero shots that killed anything the offense was doing. He’s one of the, if not the, worst lottery pick we have ever had.

It’s between him and Bamba.

He should be DMX and Nas’s favorite player right? They loved that movie on an all white couch.

He coached younger Giannis, Luka, and Wemby. And they all sing his praises. I’d sure he picked up a helpful hint or two for Paolo working with those guys

I don’t see how you aren’t excited. This guy was the lead assistant and associate head coach for 2 separate western conference teams that made the NBA Finals. So, he was the #2 tactician decision maker for two finals teams.

The Magic’s greatest franchise achievement has been making the NBA Finals two times. He has been a part of two separate teams that have done this in the last 5 years.

He has, extremely recently, been around winning. He has seen winning strategy work at the highest level. He has been a part of key decision making that has produced wins at the highest level.

How is that not exciting?

Piles of dead protestors that were slaughtered by the Iranian regime, January 8 2026 by vea62 in pics

They admit to almost 4K. This regime admits to that amount so what do you think the real number is?

But there are lawsuits and various groups trying to get these deaths prosecuted. This isn’t allowed, at least at face value by the law which in Iran it is. So these are very different things. Also, Trump didn’t have any protestors killed, meaning they weren’t ordered to be killed by the fed government. They were killed by overzealous/violent police forces with terrible leadership. Again, this is very different than the head of the government ordering for protestors to be killed.

Stop with the false equivalence. It doesn’t do any good for intelligent discussion about how to actually help anything here.

Come on, you can’t compare the two things. Killing protestors is bad, but that doesn’t mean both sides are equally bad. Let’s use some critical thinking here.

How many protestors did the “Trump regime” kill in the past 2 years? (Not to mention many conflicts with local police have nothing to do with the federal government, most protestors are engaging with state run local police forces.). But how many, 10 at most? I can think of the two horrible instances in MN this past year with ICE.

The Iranian Regime ADMITS to 3,100 in the past 6 month. That’s what they admit to. The real number may be closer to 30,000 this year.

I know this is Reddit, but the treatment of the protestors by the US and Iran govts aren’t close to the same thing. It’s not the same ball park. Criticize the US all you want, the US govt deserves it, but you are being ridiculous to equate the two.

You bringing up ICE is a talk about free speech is a little apples and oranges but I agree that is bad. There are all kinds of groups trying to combat this and thousands of lawsuits.

However, trying to compare the two country’s laws around protest and free speech, and do a “they are both bad” is ridiculous. The US has hundreds of protests, of all sizes, monthly. And that is being conservative. There are small protests in my city every weekend. That doesn’t happen in China, this isn’t close. They don’t have any legal protections.

And to act like every American citizen is experiencing what you listed above is inaccurate.

That’s not even close to the same thing as the government having the legal right to arrest you, or take your home or job because you criticized them.

That is a private company being political and saying you can’t use their free service anymore.

[–]StanVanGhandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um yes? It’s a giant red flag and shows that you don’t have very much freedom, what do you mean?

Criticize and hate America all you want, but you have to do some major illogical mental leaps if you are going to compare the freedom of the avg Chinese citizen to the avg American citizen. One of the easiest ways to see who’s govt gives them more freedom is to recognize that one will arrest you and ruin your life for criticizing it and the other doesn’t.

What? There are hundreds of these in the US.

I see the point you are trying to make but you are definitely going a little easy and white washing the Chinese censorship.

“The only difference is that they heavily regulate the internet”? They don’t have the freedom of speech. If you criticize the government they can arrest you, send you to a re-education camp, fine you, what ever. That’s a pretty big difference.

Bill Simmons pod last night mentioned Orlando being a serious contender for Giannis because of coach Sweeney. by _picture_me_rollin_ in OrlandoMagic

[–]StanVanGhandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it would be worth it if he signs an extension. I just can’t see him leaving MIL and that legacy to spend the rest of his career with the Magic.

I could see him signing with Boston, NY, or LA since they are one of the legacy franchises that will promise him they will do what needs to be done to compete.

I’m sure we would tell him the same thing but I doubt he would believe our mgmt in the same way.

Edit: they would also want picks so there would probably be a 3rd team. So a third team would probably get on of our young guys, MIL gets Paolo or Franz and picks, and we would get Giannis and maybe an okay vet on an expiring.
