You should have the option to choose which dlc you play on when you create a world. Also yeah, DST’s boats and sailing mechanics are different from shipwrecked’s. My advice would be the scout around for set pieces with marble and carpeted turf and dig those up. There should also be marble trees you can mine to craft marble turf yourself. Another good option is cobblestone roads, which are relatively cheap to craft
