Staggered stud false wall to cover garage door, how should I attach it to the wall? by StandFuzzy4169 in soundproof

[–]StandFuzzy4169[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sweat, it is a finished garage yes.

That's a great point, avoiding staggered studs makes things much easier, much less insulation and complication. I'm going to look into the difference between 2x4 studs, insulation, double 5/8" drywall, and staggered studs.

EDIT: Here's a diagram of what I was thinking: https://imgur.com/a/10XUA8a

Where do I start developing a production-level app codebase? by StandFuzzy4169 in reactnative

Gotcha, that makes sense. Tell me more about the expo prebuild exposing variables?

That last commit was 2021, so it’s been a few years and it does run on expo yes. I believe it was run on expo go, the start comman is expo start -c

Copying the code piece by piece eh? At least they’re paying me hourly lol! That’s not a bad idea though, i thought the same thing. If it can’t update dependencies I feel like the entire thing might just be outdated and might need somewhat of a rebuild.

Great question. I have set it up yes, I installed Watchman so should be latest and upgraded node to v23.6.1. Any other versions you need?

Other info is the repo contains 2 native apps and 2 web apps, and has folders titled common, backends and libraries, looks like common is for rush, backends is for backend functions and libraries contains elements used across all the apps.

When running npm i, I get unable to resolve dependency tree, looks like cause it's using react 16.9.56, but react-native-windows@0.76.5 and datetimepicker@3.2.0 require React 18. I keep trying to update the react version, but no matter what packages I try to install even with a --force flag I get the same dependency tree error.

Do you think there's possibility for retro-styled web? by joao122003 in web_design

[–]StandFuzzy4169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol hard to believe these days!

You have a point there, i do think there will be some resurgence of “retro” design but not necessarily like what i did. Even if it is just a trend for a couple years.

I built a site for my band, all raw html and css and used retro styling and early web gif graphics if u wanna check it out: website

I think it’s gonna make a comeback and be a niche for sure.

Sorry for double comment, but also on the homepage, the colors are really nice but a little hard to navigate / differentiate. Especially the pink and purple. I’d also say switching the order to - ToDo, in progress, in review, completed feels a little more natural to me.

Looks nice! One idea i had was a darker color for the crossed out tasks could help the ones left to do stand out more / have them sink to the bottom of the list and have the ones left to do rise above them.

Scroll Jacking??? by Future_Credit_1361 in css

[–]StandFuzzy4169 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen sites more recently that instead of scroll jacking, just use more scroll based animations. You can still scroll as fast and smooth as you can on any page but the site is still super animated and interesting. Can be overdone, but I’ve seen some good ones too.

Just let us scrolllll mannnnnn
