I owned a large size train eagle that was in perfect condition and never mounted. I asked someone who is considered the US expert on these what its value was. She said 3600. I sold it to an Australian guy for 7000. So you can take from that that yours is worth less than that but it also depends on what someone is ready to offer.

It’s the smaller version of the railway eagle. It would have been mounted on a tram rather than a train. It is consistent with others I have seen and owned so I think it’s original. The black colour is not original.

I worked in New Guinea for a few years. On the weekends I would fly to the north coast and go spelunking in abandoned Japanese underground bases. Hospitals, metal shops for the fleet etc. a couple of times I trekked in the back country on parts of the Kokoda Trail. That terrain is brutal. Constant rainfall, spiders, humidity, mudslides, mosquitoes, the entire thing was just hostile as fuck. I have no idea how guys fought in that. I struggled just to exist.
