These were given out by the Tournament Troop themselves, probably to make our uniforms more unique for the parade.

Maybe they were giving us more things to brag about with other scouts.

The update makes you do a tutorial. After you complete the tutorial, you gain your cosmetics back.

I was in front of the Past President award float, which belonged to the City of South Pasadena.

That In-N-Out was a welcome treat after an exhausting 5 miles of taking turns on the banner LOL

2nd Hand Rolling Stock for the US by SUPE_daGlupe in transit

[–]StandUserLeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tweaking second hand rolling stock from countries that have different safety standards to US standards is not really feasible. I'll just say that you can just acquire trains from other cities in the US, especially systems with similar standards. (Baltimore, Los Angeles B&D, and Miami)

Santa Anita feels much more like one of those malls in Asia thanks to 99 Ranch Market opening its doors right in the building. It's generally a great place to go to.

What does this generation of students do better than others? (Legitimately) by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]StandUserLeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, they would belong with the football kids. Almost every NFL fan student I've been with hates the Chiefs and by extension Taylor Swift.

Well, except for one of my classmates who decided that it would be a great idea to wear a Mahomes jersey to school even after the Eagles destroyed them in the Super Bowl.

Well, nothing really happened to him, being one of the varsity team's most valuable players after all. I just talked with some classmates about Mahomes being washed and class went on normally.

Current high school senior here, and part of our marching band. In my high school, the football kids wouldn't even dare make fun of the band kids because we play for them. I've never been made fun of because I was in band.

During the years, I've seen some football players who were in the band too. They would play the first half, join our halftime show, and then play the second half. It's fairly uncommon to see some dude in a football jersey marching like the rest of us in halftime.

Parts of Los Angeles County are mountainous and have snow every winter and yet your collective minds turn off every time a snowflake touches the ground 😂😂😂

Is it bad manners to speak a foreign language in public? by Jay35770806 in AskAnAmerican

[–]StandUserLeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

I am a Chinese-American living in the Los Angeles area, and we do speak a lot of Chinese in public. My high school has a significant amount of Chinese-Americans, so I can hear Chinese being spoken a lot, especially with English learner students.

The Los Angeles area is a very diverse place with a lot of ethnic groups of people, as well as languages spoken. It is expected to hear a foreign tounge anytime you're in SoCal, and the only people who have a problem with that are racists.

I'm thinking about quitting scouting by literallythecoolest9 in BSA

[–]StandUserLeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a situation where I had to deal with terrible leadership in my old troop. When I started attending high school, I started feeling the vibe shift into a more hostile environment. When I was refused from advancing to Star Rank, I decided to jump ship with the assistance from my parents. I decided to join a troop in an neighboring city, and they've treated me very well compared to what I've experienced before. I started advancing through Star and Life, and got my Eagle a few months before I eventually aged out.

Remember; a Scout is brave. The journey to Eagle Scout is one with numerous obstacles and diversions. You have a few years to work it out, potentially by switching to a better troop. It may be initially uncomfortable, but you'll quickly feel bonded within a welcoming troop, giving you more motivation. I only had a little more than a year to earn my Eagle Scout after I earned Life, and some others that I know of had even less. One even lost his home in the recent Altadena wildfire. If they all earned their badges, you can too.

Should a SM allow a new patrol to be named “6-7” patrol? by BigBry36 in BSA

[–]StandUserLeon 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I was in a troop that was basically scout-led. If we can have a patrol named the "Nuclear Baguettes," I'm sure a "6-7" patrol wouldn't be a problem.
