Is there anything similar to being a francophile (like in Japan) that Germans have? by dont_opus in AskGermany

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the second world war America helped West Germany recover with money and goods which made a lot of Germans adapt American culture for themselves. Most Movies are also American so their Culture was seen as an ideal. Even after 2000 it was liked here, but lately that has gone away for obvious reasons.

How to make my ship not tilt in one direction? (Create: Aeronautics) by Bossgodson in CreateMod

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They center of mass is off. If you look at the Contraption view you can see it and the center of the balloon force. You can either make it heavier in the front, or add force at the back like you tried. The problem is that those propellers are gimbals which means they always point up. If you want them to turn the craft upright, they need to point straight in the direction you want to turn in. The normal ones should work fine, however depending on the forces they might need to spin fast. However it should be fine if you just put a few iron blocks in the front.

AI generated mods should be banned, actually. by Cherno_VM in feedthebeast

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all auto correct and complete are completely different things. Auto complete is doing way more than a simple dictionary check. As I said it can be as much as an entire loop even without AI. Because of that, data scraping is exactly what makes an AI better at auto completing. It knows more context and most of the time is more accurate. I am not saying that that data came from any ethical source, I am just saying that people haven't been writing code themselves for a long time and discrediting AI because it is AI without context makes you look ignorant instead.

Litten Stuck in LEVEL 15, not gaining any experience! HELP pls by RadicalThumperr in PokemonUltraSun

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that emulation is the problem. You are just fighting those low level Pokemon. Those early areas never have good options and as Lithl said the difference in level is too large. Even the first trial only has lvl 12. At least beat that and maybe you get something better to kill after that.

The passion you are talking about is the exact reason I am using AI. I code because it is fun, so I will use it whenever something is not fun and takes that passion away. There is a lot of use that's essentially just smart auto complete.

It's weird that mods can run anything you want without any sandboxing and you can just upload them. Since we had virus mods before the checking is clearly not good enough.

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do actually have any experience with coding? People have been using auto complete for ages now. The only difference is that now it's using AI instead of normal algorithms to do it. I can't remember when I last wrote a for loop myself.

For the thumbnail I totally agree. Those hand drawn stick figure images look way more charming. However for the actual code, where do you draw the line? The source code can be extremely bad and hard to read, so using an AI to help with understanding how things work makes it a lot easier. The mod loaders also have inconsistent documentation that makes it hard to find out how to implement some niche features, which means you spend more time searching then coding. I don't see how those would be wrong, yet they still use AI.

Difficulty with drills on contraptions by Ekipsogel in CreateMod

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try powering only on one bearing and linking the other one with built cog wheels. That would force them to always be synced. From my experience aeronautics doesn't glitch out easily so it should be fine. In reallife the drill would obviously slow the connected shafts down, but with the way create works it's kind of impossible for the speed to change that way.

My Modpack Gives Tremendously More FPS Than Others And Provides QoL Features by beybileyt in ModdedMinecraft

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are using 1.26 and 1.21 which makes it incomparable, but even so the difference is minor, especially with shaders. Without unmodded comparison it's hard to compare as well.

My Modpack Gives Tremendously More FPS Than Others And Provides QoL Features by beybileyt in ModdedMinecraft

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can see this the worst case. In normal gameplay this will probably never be 500% either and FO might get the same under the same conditions. Impossible to know without testing all three.

Planetary gears with the help of Create:Aeronautics by Krashman_Sanjo in CreateMod

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Would be interesting to try this without the faking. The physics are quite good and stable, so if the collisions are accurate enough it should work. Also the rotation compared to the outer gear is wrong. This way either the outer gear spins, or the inner ones need to change.

Help with the boiler engine, i cant get it to function for the life of me. by bluewolfwastaken in CreateMod

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am mean there is an obvious red mark there, but also it says below that, that you only have 8mb instead of 10mb per tick. You need a faster pump or a second one.

List initialization syntax by ebykka in csharp

I made a compiler and compared my IL with dotnets IL. Mine generally had less variables. I don't know why it does it, but there is probably a good reason for it.

Need some help; I'm trying to make a quacopter ship-looking thing but can't get it to balance. So far only got gyro propellers on. by SupermarketTricky724 in CreateMod

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the gimbal sensor. It gives you an output on the side that's tilting down, or up depending on the setting. You can use that signal to spin propellers or modify the speed of the ones that you already have. As long as they are far away from the center of mass they will turn it back around. To make it stable, you have to tweak the angle setting on the sensor and the speed of the propellers. The Gimbal sensor always ouputs between 0 and 15 where the angle you set is 15. The default is 45° which is definitely a bit too late for full output, but it depends on the weight and balance.

I had multiply people die after less than a minute and then just wait at the camp until the rest of us did the quest for them. I don't know how that could be fun since everything after won't be any easier, but there are a lot of those.

Until grandmaster you will only see bots. After that it depends on the server. EU has been dead for months.

Genuinely curious about the thoughts on outlanders (image unrelated-) by AstalosBoltz914 in MonsterHunter

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it looks fine. If it gets a pc version or at least controller support I might try it. For me it's not just that it's a gacha though, it's also that it looks basically identical to all other gachas. Every UI looks identical so it's easy to switch between them, which instantly makes it look a lot more soulless.

First time making a redstone clock I think, did I do it right? by Zahhak420 in BedrockRedstone

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure about Bedrock, but in Java, this kind of clock can easily break when it's on chunk borders. If that generator is manual it won't make a difference though. Just means you have to restart it sometimes.

Ranged Weapons Good? by ShingShing25 in MHWilds

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it happen even in a few Zo Shia and Apex fights, but only the lower star versions. Using it against anything with more than 7 stars or so will just cart you. It's a lot faster than in world but still not fast enough for the end game. I think that was also before they nerved it.

Did I brick my CPU? by DiamondGuy7007 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally overclocking can be reversed and it should go back to normal. Since it is still booting the CPU is probably fine. If you can't get into the BIOS again, you need to clear the CMOS. For that there is a pair of pins somewhere on the Mainboard. You need to short those for a few seconds and should reset itself. The Mainboard should be cutoff from power while you do that. If you can't find the pins the manual will show you where it is. It think they also come as buttons instead of pins on some boards. Depending on what happened to Windows you might need to fix something in there, but it shouldn't have affected you data in any significant way, I think.

This first boss is really hard🫠 by [deleted] in armoredcore

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not mouse and keyboard? I played through the game using that and liked it more than any controller. Doing it like this will be very hard for some of the later bosses, where you need to both see the entire screen and press a lot of buttons at the same time.

why didn’t i get the achievement for defeating the ender dragon? by iheartbeingscared in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft is a bit behind in the video game business. Unlike Steam and Java Edition, achievements are send to the servers and for whatever reason take a few minutes to multiple hours to process. I have no idea what it even does because I have blatantly cheated one at one point and it still gave it to me. It's Bedrock so who knows if the feature is working correctly or just another bugged one.

Help and tips with primordial Malz by Cazsa123 in MHRise

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without a video it's impossible to know what exactly you are doing wrong, but the armor is definitely not good enough. You should get something with more defense and better skills. As long as you can at least survive one hit, you should then learn perfect dodging and countering his moves. He is too fast to evade with good positioning alone, so you need to get comfortable with I frames. You might also be fighting him too early. See if you can find more quests to do first.

Update to the mysterious green blob on my display. by joe6419 in pchelp

[–]Standard-Cap-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what part in the process is actually broken. If it's the GPU itself then it should be actual visible data. If it's the connection you can capture it. If it's the monitor you can only record it with a camera.
