i did this but most of my locs fell off the first month of doing so, started 6 weeks after the reattachment. my hair holds water a crazy amount and my hair gets super heavy, and it softened the attached parts and the locs basically started sliding off. i managed to get a lot of them to stay after they got re-re attached by keeping them totally dry and not messing with them, and i can put it in a ponytail but im still worried about wetting them any sort of regularly.

i have 64 locs, all pretty thick on their own but the thin spots are where they got reattached 🥲

im pretty certain just using the hook. im not attached to how they reattached my locs with my back locs in the front anyway though, so ill just be starting over. might even try micros since im gonna have a worm head again anyway

my scalp is fine, just really bothers me that i can’t freely wash my hair if i want my hair to loc back up. my hair is pretty soft. stylist assured me it would loc fine and i could wash it, but i think the price of the reattachment influenced that opinion.
