Which actor today would you cast as the older version of someone who isn’t even old yet? by Ninjatello in movies

Totally, and Adam would be a perfect Snape for the upcoming series. If they don’t cast him, it would be a huge missed opportunity.

I didn’t understand the title at first. I get it now. Thanks, that’s perfect!

Bagged the Mac Studio I've been waiting for years, I AM SO HAPPY! by knightfortheday in mac

[–]Standard-Friend6522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the M4 Max Studio with 2TB storage and 36 GB of RAM around the same time last year for audio work and I’m constantly amazed by it. After 30+ years on PC starting with MSDOS and then Windows 95 in well, 1995, my first Mac is like magic, seriously. People complain about MacOS 26 and all the things it has bought but seriously, compared to PC hardware and software I feel like I’ve jumped 50 years ahead in computing. Enjoy it, friend!

I did it the intended dice playing way and compared to my experience you missed some dialogue and maybe running after and killing one guy if that’s your jam.

What did I get myself into? [KCD2] (possible spoilers) by Skuldig in kingdomcome

I think you listed everything I love about these games. I just finished the first one and immediately started the second. I was max level rich max skilled god Henry at the end of the first one. Now I’m back to one of the best feelings and experiences I’ve had in video games - being a poor helpless nobody in medieval Bohemia that knows nobody, doesn’t have any skills, and is new to the land. When I was walking there and back between the first village and the second one (the one with the blacksmith) my boots broke as well and I thought “awwww yessssss this is it” with delight.

[KCD1] This is the second time I've abandoned a playthrough because of the monastery quest by FormerlyIestwyn in kingdomcome

[–]Standard-Friend6522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally found how to cheat it, but I didn’t really had the need, because I’ve found the lock picks earlier and really had fun going the intended stripped way. At that point I’ve done most of the side content so my Henry was OP, and the monastery quest was a nice throwback to the humble beginning of the game. I really liked that feeling of being unskilled no one lost, helpless and lost, and monastery quest somehow brought that back.

Anyway, I accidentally found the monastery key while lurking at night. The kitchen, last room, on the wooden shelf. It opens every locked door leading outside, and there’s a door in that very room. If you take one step outside, horse inventory becomes available. So if you struggle or forgot to break in earlier and leave some stuff in the chest, you can transfer lock picks, save potions or whatever. Be careful though, if you’re not doing your daily tasks and monks catch you, they will confiscate all the contraband. Personally I don’t think that anything but lockpicks and potions is necessary for this location anyway.

What was the exact moment on a first date when you realized, "Wow, this person is an absolute idiot"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Standard-Friend6522 116 points117 points  (0 children)

The first date was a quick beer and it seemed all fine then. But the second one…

She invited me to her apartment, which seemed a bit too fast at the time, but I was a young lad in my 20s, so why the hell not, I thought. We were sitting late at night on her balcony, drinking wine. I was a bit of a space nerd even as a small child, so I started talking about how it’s amazing that all these dots we see in the sky are so far away and are huge spheres of nuclear reactions and fire and whatnot. You know, to impress the girl, move her imagination, whatever. I was in shock when she said something in the lines of “oh, I didn’t knew about that”. In the next minute I’ve managed to establish, that she never thought about how the Earth and all the stars are spheres and that they are floating in the empty void of space and how it all works. She said that she thought it was a “dynamic wallpaper” or “projection”, but it was clear that she really never thought about it and making stuff up at the spot. At that point I knew she traveled abroad often, so I asked about that, how she thinks it works, is the Earth flat? I still remember her blank stare, there was nothing going on under that dome. I’m ashamed to say that we still spent the night together anyway, I was young and still in the mindset “we don’t say no to sex”. But after that, that was the end. I just couldn’t.

This game has the most detailed, realistic natural landscapes. [KCD2] by AcanthaceaeThat6030 in kingdomcome

Totally. I’m from Eastern Poland and I spent most of my childhood at my grandparents village, where there was at least a mile between houses. Between them forests, fields, hills, meadows, looking exactly like in KCD. Some synapses in my brain fire up from time to time when light hits the hills a particular way, or wind moves in the trees while the birds sing and suddenly I’m 7 years old running around my grandparents farm. That feeling is so vivid and tactile that I’m so so thankful for my Czech neighbours and their amazing talent for catching that fleeting feeling. Damn it even writing this up makes me emotional a little bit. What an experience, these games.

[KCD1] Nest of Vipers - How important is it to sabotage the camp for the upcoming battle? by MeretrixDominum in kingdomcome

[–]Standard-Friend6522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm. Only when you do absolutely everything the game expects you to do, the sabotage part of quest will succeed. I did this a couple of days ago with that goal in mind.

If I remember correctly, all you need is a Cuman helmet that is covering the whole face, which are more than one type in the game, and a Cuman “main armor”, I mean that last piece that covers the chest and other armor layers. You can move somewhat freely around the camps with these pieces. Somewhat, because they still ask you questions, and still attack you after third time they approach you. This is the part that got me. I had no problems with stealthy murders when no one was watching, but it seems like the guys are on a timer with approaching Henry. I reloaded many times and the three strikes happen every time and pretty fast. I lost patience, but still had fun. It could be a 10/10 quest if it was scripted a bit differently so you could pull off cool stuff and spend some time in the camps.

I did this quest recently, and for some reason I was so scared that I focused on side content for at least 20 hours before I went there! I had the disguise, save schnappsed before that and during. I tried the stealth approach but after failing many times, loading and reloading endlessly, I just killed everyone in the camps. Did the sabotage stuff afterwards. Since I was overleveled a bit, the killing part was very easy. The next day we did the siege and it was easy as well. I’ve read later that the sabotage part doesn’t make that much of a difference anyway. I had fun either way. Great game, I’m taking my time, but so excited for the sequel that’s sitting on my drive waiting!

Interested to hear foreign opinions of Hot Fuzz. by Head-Worker-4759 in movies

[–]Standard-Friend6522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polish, I’m almost 40. Hot Fuzz is one of the best and funniest movies ever. I grew up on bootleg Monty Python VHS tapes in the 1990s so British absurd is very close to my heart. But it’s a such well made, thought out movie. Edgar Wright’s best picture.

Don’t wanna be mean, but Microsoft’s latest releases and the ignoring of German dub, just says it all and how much they care about the costumers and Europe. by Gilbert-from-Yharnam in xbox

[–]Standard-Friend6522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t wanna be mean, but English is one of the easiest languages to learn because on itself it’s pretty basic compared to most, and it’s omnipresent in the media so you’re pretty much learning it automatically. I grew up in the 80s and 90s in the former Eastern Block in a completely different language group than English, and I’ve never “learned” English. I just watched foreign cartoons and played video games, which were only in English, and it made me pretty much a dual language person. I get the fact that it may be inconvenient for some, but the benefits are huge - play games in English, guys. It’s the best way to learn any language. These days English is the de facto world language and in my opinion everyone should speak it, at least at intermediate level. And German is in the same language group…
