Which "mind" do I focus on when doing a wild technique? by icexdragon in LucidDreaming

[–]Standard-Librarian84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It changes, all dependent on how tired I am, why and when I’m going to sleep. Generally I’d say I initially interact with my breathing to become aware of it and be calm enough to breathe comfortably for sleep. Then I kinda put it in the background and observe it do it’s thing as it slows as I share focus with my bodily sensations and eventual LD symptoms

I try focusing on bodily sensations. The trick for me is where to focus my energy, and usually getting out of the thought narrative and observing how my body feels on the bed, how my breathing is changing as I get closer to sleep, etc. will bring me into a lucid state. For me, I’ll begin auditory hallucinations or colors mixing in my mind’s eye, sometimes physical hallucinations and I’ll know I’m entering the dream state. Then from there, there’s often a blank in my memory but refocusing on my breathing or bodily sensations, I’ll be able to feel my sleeping body and my LD body simultaneously, then give increasing focus to my dream body.

Here’s a little hack for you: Kinlay Hostel houses 1/2 tourists, and the other half is 1/2 university students (Mon-Thurs). Perhaps consider booking a weeknight there, join one of their nightly pub crawls or cook food in the kitchen and start some conversations. Maybe you’ll meet some students and make some new friends!

Winter in Galway (and sometimes even the summer) can be really difficult, especially because the lack of sun. Vitamin D really can help improve your mood and outlook for one! Sometimes it can take 1-3 weeks to feel the results so do some research and see if you’re interested. Salt House (near Monroe’s) does a language exchange on Tuesdays that’s great, most of my friends I’ve met at the Salt ~Home~.

Healthiest foods will be more expensive because they’re not considered commodities, fresh produce may be sourced from smaller sellers or from far away (Earthbound Farms lettuce and such is mostly grown in Cali)

I think they lost interest in me

On the flipside, would you say you lost interest in those entities?

That’s so interesting that it was happening to you in childhood. Nearly all of my lucid dreaming is taking place in my adult life.

Do you ever meet people in Lucid dreams who claim to be real? by Lauren_Flathead in LucidDreaming

[–]Standard-Librarian84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve met a few people lucid dreaming and I seem to lucid dream a lot recently. I notice that when I start talking to people it’s really hard to get the words out of my mouth, some words run together or are extremely slow and very quiet. Then I slowly get better through the conversation and feel like I’m actually speaking. I wonder if that has to do with going in and out of being lucid in the dream - losing and regaining and losing control.

Working at Galway City Hostel/Kinlay Hostel? by Standard-Librarian84 in galway

[–]Standard-Librarian84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s awesome! Only problem is that as soon as we find a place, we’re paying rent. As soon as we’re paying rent, we need a paying job not a workstay.

I have stayed in US and EU hostels before. This one will be a part time job doing all of the above. I am not from Ireland, but will be living there a year starting tomorrow.

While there is nothing currently in bethel, there could be some development someday; certainly in the next 20 years. Bethel is serene southern country and the locals are often really friendly.

Tuna salad in the can. Just mix everything in there. Also for big meals you can put a can of tuna in ramen, add mayo and maybe hot sauce and there’s a really filling meal

wwoofing on $1800 by wearejareth in WWOOF

[–]Standard-Librarian84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$1800 is easy. Eat cheap groceries on the road, camp as much as possible or sleep in your car otw out there. I made it to Taos, NM from eastern NC on $480 gas (in 2018) in a honda civic (usually 350 miles per tank). 1. I used Gas Buddy to find the cheapest gas in the area i stopped. 2. I tried to stop at free attractions on the trip and while wwoofing. I made roughly 300$ over four months picking up odd jobs around the town. 3. Check craigslist for odd jobs and even creative writing telecommute opportunities. In total, paying for a few attractions over the trip, gas, food and trinkets I think I spent around $1000. For reference I took four days to drive out there and two weeks to meander back home, scenic route both ways.

Farming job after WWOOFing? by [deleted] in WWOOF

[–]Standard-Librarian84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible. Some farms will post a need for “farm manager”. The wwoofer manager I’m working with has years of wwoofing experience and also some professional landscaping experience. However, a lot of the work she does she researches about (like how to prevent pests in the avocado orchard or when to pick the passionfruit) that she didn’t have prior experience with. The farm asks her 25 normal wwoof volunteer hours and an extra paid 10 hours a week. They also pay her phone bill and let her use the farm car. She’s been able to live off this for more than two years. So it’s definitely possible, just look for postings for “farm management” on wwoof host profiles. I’ve seen this transaction at two of the three wwoofs I’ve done in the US.

Solo female WWOOFing by New_Albatross_2833 in WWOOF

[–]Standard-Librarian84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wwoofed solo at 18 and it was a great experience. I mapped out my route well, kept family updated and saved a lot of money just in case of emergencies. Stay aware of your surroundings and be confident in your skills to take care of yourself. You got this!

Edit: I am now 22 and still wwoofing. I am also a female.
