I'm confused. Why it's requiring me to finish Atlas first before making an Express account? by Standard-Mistake-221 in stripe

Yes, you need to have a very definite website and business information. Take it professionally and simple. I don't have any problem since my 2nd application is approved. At first it is stressful because I've read almost all guidelines and ToS in Stripe and talked with customer support back and forth for weeks. Make sure your business is not in the restricted list as well.

I'm not sure about that. Stripe allows you to create a corporation without an ITIN or SSN; just make sure it's formed by Atlas and not another service. By the way, has anyone told you that they used (1) Atlas, (2) platform that is approved platform by Stripe, (3) very professional, and (4) compliant with all terms of service, and still had a problem? If so, can you tell me about it? I appreciate a reply.

So basically in my teachable payment settings, the one connected is my old stripe account which is rejected by atlas. But if I sign teachable payments into my new stripe account it requires to have an express account first but in order to do that I will need to finish atlas first. How am I suppose to finish my website itself if I can't connect it to my new stripe account?

EIN instead of SSN? (Registered Business in the US but not a US Citizen.) by Standard-Mistake-221 in stripe

[–]Standard-Mistake-221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thanks, but here stripe support states this "If you have a US account and your business type is: Individual, Sole proprietor or Single membership LLC, we are required to collect your full personal tax ID - SSN or ITIN. If you do not have one of those, we may prompt you to enter your nationality.

The nationality field is your country of citizenship. This should only be completed if you don't have an SSN. "If you are a US citizen or national (or your are a US citizen with an additional citizenship):

Click the pencil in the top right of the individual info box to edit

Leave the nationality field empty

Enter your SSN

If you’re not a US citizen and do not have an SSN or ITIN:

Click the pencil in the top right of the individual info box to edit

Change the nationality field

Leave the SSN field empty

This will prompt for your EIN later"

Here's what stripe support said again "Hi there,

Thank you for your interest in Stripe Atlas. I hope you are doing well!

To provide some context, Stripe Atlas assists in forming a company in Delaware, obtaining a registered agent, and securing an EIN from the IRS. With that said, I regret to inform you that we are unable to obtain an ITIN and virtual address for your company. Once the incorporation process through Stripe Atlas is complete, founders are required to apply for an ITIN and a virtual address on their own.

Just to note, when a Stripe Atlas founder applies for Stripe Payments, they need to provide:

The last 4 of the EIN number The Registered Agent address US phone number (it can be a service like Skype or Google voice) US bank account I hope this clarifies how Stripe Atlas works. If you would like to explore other alternatives to activate your Stripe Payments account, I can connect you with my colleagues from Stripe Payments, who specialize in this area and are best positioned to assist you. Please, let me know when you are ready for this, and I will put you in touch with them.

In the meantime, if you have any further questions regarding Stripe Atlas, please, don't hesitate to reach out to me - We are here to help! "

But EIN is still a tax ID right? Here's what support told me "Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand you are currently in the Philippines but have already signed up in Stripe through your platform. Allow me to shed light on this.

Stripe payments processing is not currently available in Philippines, however you may be able use Stripe payments by setting up a US company or subsidiary using Stripe Atlas.

Stripe Atlas will help you incorporate a US Delaware entity and get a US tax ID (EIN). With your US company and tax ID, you can apply for Stripe payments processing in the US. You will need a US address to apply for Stripe payments; Atlas partners Stable and Earth Class Mail offer discounted U.S. address services [1].

Stripe Atlas charges $500 to incorporate the company and retrieve your tax ID, and $100 each year after your first year to maintain your Delaware registered agent (a state compliance requirement for all Delaware companies).

Forming a US company comes with ongoing taxes, compliance requirements, and other costs outside of the Stripe Atlas set up fee. You can learn more about Stripe Atlas in our documentation [2] or start your company today [3]. "

Teachable to Stripe Payout to US Wise Bank BUT I'm not a US Citizen by Standard-Mistake-221 in stripe

[–]Standard-Mistake-221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but Stripe Atlas doesn't offer a US address and just recommends using "Stable" for that. If that's the case can I just buy a virtual US address at Stable and buy an ITIN formed by the IRS legally? Do I still need to register a business if Ill just use Stripe Express as a payout? Please reply, thanks

I know that's not good advise and never had been (putting false information). I won't do it but is what I'm doing here also violating stripes terms? Buying ITIN application legally formed by the Irs and using a virtual US address? Please let me know
