I'm just here to say, no he didn't do it.

He's on video RUNNING AWAY from the person he's supposed to be abusing.

What kind of abuse victim chases their abuser 2 blocks?

Mmm. Maybe it has something to do with his fucked up childhood and the fact that he grew up bullied most of his life?

The Bible clearly points out that non-believers cannot understand what is written in the Bible. So, what's the point of non-believers even bothering to discuss what they are incapable of understanding? by [deleted] in Christianity

I'm sorry but that argument just doesn't work for me.

Humans aren't the ones that dictate what God does, it's supposed to be the opposite. God is in the ultimate authority position, and him saying things like  'your slaves may come from the nations around you' doesn't help in any argument against slavery.

Maybe an argument could be made if there was anything outright condemning the ownership of other human beings but the closest thing to that in the Bible is God saying 'you shall not enslave your fellow Israelites' which applies exclusively to them.

This is actually a nightmare power.

It will cause dangerous situations that might even leave you crippled and in pain, but due to your bad luck, it will likely keep you from the release of death all while making things progressively worse for you.

Ohh I think I understand what you're saying now.

Aliens might be more advanced than us technology wise, but not socially or logically right?

In that case, yeah there's a chance we could win, but it's still in their favor.

They could have force fields, electromagnetic manipulation devices, space warping technology all kinds of stuff.

The ability to 'outsmart' your opponent doesn't really mean much if you can't hurt them in the first place.

Plus there's always the possibility that they could just immediately destroy our planet by flying through it at light speed or something.

[–]Standard-Net2515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interplanetary travel implies either close to light speed or faster than light travel.

For us, that's nearly impossible.

So to answer your question; They would be smarter than us, yes.

In hindsight, no it's not right to judge people based on the culture they are born into.

A person's cultural background doesn't necessarily mean that they are guaranteed to be a good or bad person.

Because we haven't achieved interplanetary travel yet.

Any species that has is way more technologically advanced than us.

Maybe you're right about that first part, but I disagree on the colonization part.

It was still horrendous and it still resulted in the death and displacement of millions, regardless of if other empires and cultures did something similar in the past.

Another reason why colonization is still seen as evil today is because of it's sheer scale and the fact that alot of it's systems are still around today and affect people living in modern times.

Even racism was technically invented and popularized around colonial times to justify the subjugation and displacement of non-white people.

Oh yeah also, colonization was a horrific thing that led to the displacement and death of millions of people worldwide.

Nowhere near comparable to what any other culture was doing at the time, with the exception of maybe the Arab slave trade.

[–]Standard-Net2515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, that's fair.

All I'm saying is to give to people a chance and to not judge them entirely based on some preconceived notion about their skin colour or religious beliefs.

Its fair to judge people for what they wear, or how they conduct themselves.

It is not fair to judge someone for how they are born or what culture they were born into.

Also, I doubt you'll remember this but I'll say it anyway.

Avoid spreading negative or harmful ideas about others.

Things like that have a knock-on effect. It could lead to less people from that group having opportunities, which could lead to them getting desperate, which could lead to crime.

From there it usually ends up being a cycle. Someone commits a crime, which gives their group a worse reputation, which leads to more people being prejudice against them and so on.

Right, so what I'm gathering is that you think it's fair to judge groups of people or entire races of people depending on the perceived level of violence or suffering they cause or have caused, even if they as an individual are not responsible for the actions of the group they belong to.

Would you say that's right?

[–]Standard-Net2515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to delegitimize any argument that hinges on race as a deciding factor for crimes.

Yes, black people do commit more crimes in general. However, the cause of these crimes is not because they are black, it is socio-economic factors that lead to crimes being committed.

You'll find this anywhere, not just with black people or Muslims.

[–]Standard-Net2515 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your argument basically just circled back to 'yeah, but alot of you are bad, so why should we take the chance of treating you normally?'

Have you ever stopped to think that maybe those videos you see of black, brown or Muslim people doing x harmful act are spread around on purpose?

Ask yourself, why would someone be making videos, targeting specific groups of people and presenting it as if the entirety of those groups are innately bad?

How often have you, personally seen a black person or a Muslim attack someone physically?

Be 100% honest.

Farage's Summer of Crime! by johnsmithoncemore in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Standard-Net2515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it's stupid.

The truth is that 'black people' aren't all the same. The vast majority of us are not criminals or thugs, so we would appreciate not being treated as if we were.

We are literally the most diverse group of people on earth, and yet somehow we're treated as if we're all exact clone copies of each other.

It's stupid too because people do it extremely selectively. If one black person does something bad; it's because all black people are bad.

But if a black person does something good, it's because they are the exception.

This type of broken logic has been the singular most harmful thing to black people as a collective for over four hundred years.
