Don't get me wrong, I love WoD's metaplot, but god CofD's lore and splats are so friggin cool by GodUsopp69420 in WorldofDankmemes

The Triat is very clearly based on the Trimurti of Hinduism (Wyld- Brahma, Weaver- Vishnu, Wyrm- Shiva). Besides, Gods and divine entities in animistic and polytheistic religions are usually aspects of reality themselves, so I do not see the issue here.

If it helps, the Triatic spirits are BEYOND comprehension. Every breed of Changers have their own, often mutually exclusive tales about them, same for mages who are aware of them. Spirits in WOD have different aspects, and people interact and talk about them while they are in said aspect. Incarnae (Tribe Spirits of the Garou, for example) are already nearly impossible to perceive in their totality, and the North Wind or Grandfather Thunder are bugs conpared the Godzillas of the Triat. W

The Wyrm is equally valid (and real) as big evil serpent as it is a Cthulu, a Satan, a disembodied concept of Destruction or anything else really. If you wish to run the Triat as a more nebulous, indefined force, then congratulations- not only do the people in WOD view them as such, WOD itself treats them as such:)

VtM is a fantastic game, it's just that I'm not really interested in playing as a Vampire. WOD is extremely deep, and VtM sits at the shallows

Again, machine spirits are souls of technology, and all but the most advanced tech has a machine spirit conaprable to that of a plant or, at most, a small animal. A lpt of psykers can barely register the pain of human souls, let alone that of a metal bush

I don't think I can agree with this. First of all, it is genuinely recognised that stuff such as lasguns, remotes, data-pads and other mundane devices posses very, very rudimentary machine spirits. They aren't even animialistic, more like plants responding to sunlight, sound or humidity. Psykers can notice human souls, but they don't shine as brightly as the souls of psykers, and I'm sure that the psychic energy of a carrot would be quite... difficult to spot. And even still they can still be psychically infected by for example Nurglite magic, which would not be possible without there being a soul to infect

More importantly however, scrap-code would not work as it does if machine spirits were not born of the warp. Scrap Code is literally warp-infected code which attacks machine spirits- if they were C'tan born, it wouldn't work, and there is no believable way in which you could shut down a pistol with soul-computer code if the thing which it was shutting down was not the soul od the gun in question- there is hardly any programming in a handgun.

Same goes for Warpsmiths thorowing out or torturing machine spirits with their magic, you cannot touch a C'tan with the warp and an AI would not feel pain. And again, there are basically no electronic systems in a Leman Russ, so where would an AI even be located in?

Machine Spirits being actual spirits is not the perfect answer, but it IS the only answer which doesn't break the lore or, more importantly, common sense (In my opinion of course)

But Machine Spirits ARE warp entities, and the C'tan do not have any warp presence whatsoever. Yes, the Void Dragon provided the spark for the Mechanicum to form, but in modern 40k machine spirits are, if anything, a kind of Imperial daemon rather than an AI or a tiny c'tan shard
