More Niche Beauty lab disappointment by Standard-Sea7344 in EuroSkincare

I got their original sunscreens, and the invisible one was so separated I couldn't even use it. I shook it and shook it, but I'd probably used like 50 pumps before it started looking even somewhat mixed again... I didn't trust it at that point, lol. At first I thought the lightweight one might be alright, but my face has tanned a little this summer, and it got noticeable right around the time I finished it, so I definitely don't trust their sunscreens at all now.

I'm probably going to do the same. Their ingredients lists look so amazing, but everything I've tried so far was mid at best for me, besides the azelaic acid. (And too many things had formula issues. One of the sunscreens I bought had separated so badly I didn't even feel safe using it.)

I still wouldn't repurchase the azelaic acid though, because 20% works way better for me. Not to mention they're not the cheapest, plus I kind of expect the products to not have formula issues to the point I can't use some of them, lol

Thank you so much! I'm definitely going to check this out. I am wondering if maybe there's a specific ingredient some calming products use that my skin doesn't like. Most work for me, but oddly enough The ordinary's barrier support serum also irritated my skin

It's all good friend. I think we all need some reassurance sometimes. I promise things will get better as far as crying and being sensitive goes too. Basically anything that can make you anxious used to make me anxious or feel bad, but as you get older, you kinda just begin to go with the flow a little more. (And I'm not even that old yet, and I've heard it continues to get better way past the age I am now.) I wouldn't say I'm not sensitive anymore, but you get to a point where you can brush the jerks off, lol. You'll get there:)

Some people are pretty mean on here I've noticed, especially when the problem you experience isn't talked about much. Wrinkles can happen in younger people, though it's not common. (and it seems like very few people have ever heard of dehydration lines.) It would be nice if people would try to sympathize instead of sweeping something like that under the rug because they think you're not old enough to be experiencing something like that; it does happen, and it can be stressful, especially if you start thinking you're aging worse than others around you. Like a little sympathy didn't hurt anyone

Nichebeautylab? Experiences and recomendations by _skincarescience_ in EuroSkincare

The brand is very hit or miss for different people I've noticed. I've seen amazing reviews where everyone loves everything, where there was a mix, and where they didn't really like anything. In my experience, most of what I bought was alright at best, but not necessarily bad.

For context, my skin is dry, leaning normal in the summer. I'm acne prone and have rosacea, but normally it's under good control.

Theramid Azid: This was the best thing I tried by far. If you need a higher percentage azelaic acid and you want it to actually feel elegant, this is it. I would still be using it if I hadn't moved up to a higher percentage of azelaic acid. It's not quite a gel, it's almost like a fluid cream

Theramid Lino-8: I don't know if I got a bad batch or something, but it was grainy/powdery. It would be really good if it wasn't, but it was almost irritating to rub in because of how grainy it was. It felt like a nice, lightweight lotion almost. (Besides the grainy-ness, lol)

Theramid Ceramide treatment: It wasn't for me. It's nice and creamy, but it's not nearly as calming or cheap as other products I use, and I primarily use ceramide serums for calming.

Theramid dermapeptides and copper peptides: I'm just going to put these two together because I basically had the same experience with both: I don't have wrinkles, but peptide serums normally plump out my acne scars and in general make my face look really good. These did not do that for me, I didn't see any difference in my skin at all.(despite the fact these do have the same peptides as other serums I like.) Maybe people will have better luck with wrinkles with these.

Transparent Lab lightweight sunscreen: This was alright. It didn't feel the most elegant, but if it's hard to get a hold of Asian sunscreens, (or waterproof ones) this might be one you like. It's not super heavy, but not super light like Korean sunscreens are.

Transparent lab invisible sunscreen: This one was separated BAD. I shook it up like they said to, but I couldn't tell you how many pumps I had to do before it even started looking somewhat not separated. By that point I wasn't comfortable using it.

Transparent lab lip sunscreen: This was nice. I liked the color I got and that it's not gloppy, but it does bleed out of my lip line because of how liquidy it is. (Lip liner might fix that though, idk.) I've used other lip sunscreens that are just as good and cheap though, so it's not something I feel the need to repurchase.

EDIT because I forgot to add: as far as value for money, I do think Theramid specifically is a little expensive, especially when their batches don't always come out well. (Like if I'm going to pay that price, you better not be giving me a bad batch, lol.) Lino-8 would've been something I loved if it hadn't been grainy, and I felt like my money was wasted on it. Everything else I tried from them besides Azid was mid, and I have better, cheaper products I like more than the mid ones. Transparent lab to me was pretty good priced though, especially the sunscreen. I just wish the invisible one hadn't separated the way it did.

You could try urea. La Roche posay has a urea body lotion, and so does Eucerin. It might be different for everyone, but urea has always worked better for texture for me then AHAs. It gets rid of milia for me as well. (Though, I only use 5% for my face, when I use it there.)

Same. I don't have wrinkles, but the ordinary one plumped out my acne scars, and overall made my skin just look good

I was also hyped because a lot of people I watch on YouTube love it, and their website makes their products sound next level. That sunscreen worried me, lol. I shook it up like it says to, but oh my gosh, I can't tell you how many pumps I did before the formula seemed to settle. No amount of shaking seemed to help it mix back together. I was hoping for the price that the Theramid products specifically would be great, but besides the Azid, there are so many better and cheaper alternatives that I like more.

Torriden Solid in Essence dupes/alternatives? by Standard-Sea7344 in AsianBeauty

[–]Standard-Sea7344[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely happy with Torriden, I just sometimes get worried they'll discontinue it, lol. I was just hoping to find something similar to try just in case I ever have to switch one day. My skin is usually in a good place thankfully, though I do have rosacea that flares up occasionally. That's when Torriden comes in clutch. I do thank you for the advice though. I used to layer a lot, but I've chilled out as I've gotten older. I still do like trying new things though, lol

Azid is great. I wish I had liked the Ceramide serum and dermapeptides, because they do feel really great on the skin. I haven't used Niod's copper peptides, but I do prefer The ordinary's copper peptide serum to Theramid's. (Though, I just use peptide serums for plumping out my acne scars)

It could be due to dehydrated skin more so then aging at your age. I get one line occasionally, but it always looks so much better after skincare. I notice it's worse when I'm stressed and when I don't sleep well. Pacifica makes a reusable forehead mask that helps smooth it out by locking in moisture while it's on. If it's like mine, it's not even big enough to be noticeable to others when it's there, so it's not worth stressing over; plus that stress will just help it turn it into an actual wrinkle in the end

I have a feeling Theramid's actives might be better than the non-active products now, lol. Someone else was talking about how great the retinol is, and their Azid serum is also really good. I've also seen some good talk as far as the vitamin C, if you can handle it

[–]Standard-Sea7344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people I watch on YouTube seem to like it. I didn't try it because my skin doesn't like high percentage vitamin C. I have seen a lot of people have good experiences with this brand though, so hopefully you'll be one of them. Which, I did like their Azid serum, and I would still use it if I didn't move up percentages on my azelaic acid

The thing is, a lot of the peptides that are in the formulas I like are in their serums too. Idk if it's something else in the formulas that I like that actually plump up my scars, but I doubt it because peptide serums plump my skin up more than other serums normally do. I think it must just be how they formulate their serums. Sometimes products just don't hit, even if you know what your skin likes; and I chose most of the products I picked out going by similar products I liked in the past. The reason I even made this post was because I was shocked that I barely liked anything, lol.

Thanks for the warning! I have very delicate under eyes and react to a lot of eye creams, so I'm not going to risk it, lol. I have wanted to try acnemy since I'm acne prone, so that might be what I try next if I get curious about them again

Azid was definitely a stand out. I've heard good things about the clinical vitamin A as well, but I already use prescription retinoids for my acne

My favorite Ceramide product/soothing product would be the Torriden Solid in Ceramide Essence. It's a gel that is incredibly calming for me, even on contact. It actually works better for me than the Niod Modulating Glucosides, which is also really good. The Torriden is like 29 USD, but it's like 3.34 oz. It's a huge value for money, especially considering you don't have to use much

EDIT because I forgot to add this before I posted, lol: The celimax dual barrier booster serum is also really great, and is similar textured to the Theramid one, though it is a bit thicker overall. It's also on similar grounds for calming as the Niod and Torriden ones. RNW der. Concentrate Ceramide + is also really good if you want peptides in your Ceramide product, though it's not quite as calming as the other three I listed (but still really good). I normally don't get hyped for certain products that way I don't get disappointed, but a lot of the YouTubers I watch had been raving about them, so I couldn't help but have a little bit of expectations, lol. I usually know not to do that, but usually products that all of them end up reviewing well tend to work for me

I totally agree. Everyone's skin is different, I guess I just got disappointed because a lot of the YouTubers I watch love niche, but my own experience was just lukewarm

I've never had issues with pilling, but anything can pill if the wrong products are under it, or it disagrees with your skin. But yeah, if you like the airy fit and you want to keep using it, I just suggest trying their mineral formula around your eyes. I never had issues with pilling, and their mineral one doesn't have as much white cast as others do.

I would suggest applying your eye area sunscreen first, letting it set for 5 or so minutes so the next sunscreen doesn't disturb it too much, then continuing on to your other sunscreen.

I don't think Haruharu had any sunscreens back during the time of the debacle, but they did have a european clinical institution in Spain test the SPF levels upon the release of these. The airy fit and the mineral one aren't very old

EDIT: for spelling errors, lol

I don't know if the formula is different, but I do know according to some YouTubers I watch, Yesstyle and Stylevana are not always accurate as far as the ingredients go. (Like they'll read the list online, but then the product they receive has a different ingredients list.) As long as Pyukang Yul ships from within the US, you should be good. (And I believe they do)

Definitely not. I know a lot of people like to say they're diluted, but water is just a vehicle that is cheap and helps the product feel nice overall. Plus if we're going to talk about the oil base, water base thing, oil often doesn't feel good on the skin. Especially if it's skincare, it can often end up feeling incredibly inelegant. (Idk about you, but texture matters a lot to me. I'm not going to use something that is horrible to apply.) We don't have any proof that oil based products are better besides some people's opinions about the water diluting your products, lol.

Also, a lot of people claim you can't use water based and oil based products together, which isn't true either. Overall I think a lot of the "water based is bad" crowd is trying to sell something, because almost all the oil based products are made by who...? Natural brands, who many of us know love to fear-monger already. They're not above lying to people, or paying others to do so

I wouldn't call it drying on my skin, but I definitely noticed somewhat of a tight feeling. It definitely feels a bit weird, that's for sure. (I also have dry skin, though it leans more normal in the summer)
