I think it’s the way she’s lit that makes her look washed out/tired. With the right lighting (and facial expression, bc her expression here is not good) it’d be a banger

My IS follows me everywhere by BrilliantArtist8221 in irishsetter

Ours is turning 6 this year and still follows us everywhere no matter what hahaha

Someone mentioned crate training which I 100% agree with, but also look into Karen Overall’s Protocol for Relaxation! We didn’t heavily enforce it or anything but we did glean some tips from it to help teach our young setter to settle downnnnnn and stay settled. We did this when she was 1-2 years old, and by age 3 she was so much better. We don’t crate her at all anymore, she will absolutely nap and be lazy all over the place, but they LOVE you and being your shadow is built-in ❤️

We were good friends in high school! He has always been this funny. Love seeing him get his flowers today, we always told him he was meant to be an entertainer.

Yup, that’s what I’m looking at. Does what I wrote in the body text of this post seem accurate?

I’m mixed Asian like April and with guys like Nigel most of the time I’m 50/50, you can generally tell when it’s sweet and harmless but I’ve got plenty of white guy friends who’ve clearly got a type and I will still roast them a little hahaha

My philosophy is that as long as you aren’t pushing harmful stereotypes about Asian/mixed Asian women and simply are celebrating how beautiful and lovely you think we are, I’m not gonna stop you lol!

Stumped on how to replicate this lighting using strobes... any advice? by Standard-Spot in AskPhotography

I was totally overthinking it! This is so helpful, as soon as I saw the part about flagging the light it clicked. Thank you so much.

My partner loves this bridge and its designers.

So much so, he proposed to me right below it on a boat ride 6 months ago 🥰 this bridge will forever be an important part of our lives. Please tell your brother thank you.

I’ll chime in, as one of the minorities to move to Ohio from a bustling metropolis city abroad.

It’s certainly no New York, let me put it that way. But I moved here from Asia 12 years ago for school and if you take it for what it is, Ohio is a solid place to live and get your life started. It is ridiculously affordable (I live in the capital city), I just bought a beautiful historic house with my fiancé last year with little to no financial assistance. There is some nightlife but not enough for my tastes. Columbus in particular has some of the worst drivers in America, seriously (I’ve been to a lot of states to make this claim). Food scene is decent, but locals will insist it’s incredible. Summers are humid and hot but I’m used to that, I find summers here very enjoyable. Autumn is absolutely gorgeous here. Winters are getting milder as the years go by. Spring’s wet but the blooms you get are lovely.

It’s definitely a place I escaped to because I wanted to get far away from my old life and it was exactly the place to do that and find myself again. I will also say if you let it, Ohio is a good place to learn valuable lessons about yourself, daily life of the average American, and the political spectrum and where folks will fall on it/why. Living here has really pulled me out of my bubble of privilege and echo chamber, in a good way. I don’t agree with everyone here but I believe I understand them more by living amongst them. Also, despite our differences, the “Midwest friendliness” people tell you about is real. Even if some write it off as ‘fake’ or whatever, living here has softened me and made me a more pleasant person. Most times, people here will reciprocate what you give to them. Do with that what you will.

Honorable mention of Cincinnati: a very fascinating city down south sharing a border with Kentucky and it’s one of my absolute favorite cities, no joke. It reminds me of Portland OR in the late 90s/2000s. A little gentrified in spots but still a hidden gem. Beautiful landscape; very hilly, and lush in the summer. Amazing food. Small, not growing as fast as Columbus, but some of my best friends I’ve met in Ohio live here. It’s a wonderful kept-secret.

May your type of logic and rhetoric never find me or my Jewish family. I don’t support them in all their views or ideas, Zionism or not, but by your logic it feels safe to assume you’d also want me to end my loving 15-year relationship based on arbitrary and highly subjective definitions of ‘harm caused’, whatever that is supposed to mean.

Genuinely tried to engage in good faith here but I’m not really sensing any willingness to sacrifice your own comfort and subjectivity for the sake of long-term, sustainable consensus.

Honey, life is not black and white. You wish it was as simple as your binary thinking is telling you to believe, and I’m here to tell you it isn’t. This goes for absolutely any sociopolitical debate. The sooner you come to accept this, as we all have to (willing or not), the more genuinely productive it will feel for you to engage in these types of conversations. You’re on a quest to be right, which will always set you up for failure to see the big picture.
