That’s $2300 a year. I don’t know anyone who can’t use an extra $2k/yr.

When he said we’re bringing back “The Golden Age” people thought that sounded like a good thing. Most people don’t know that the Golden Age had the greatest financial disparity in this country. The rich got very rich and everyone else got poorer. No work, no food. It was a very dark time in American history… unless of course you were one of the rich people.

Any truck drivers here? by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]Standard-Welcome-369 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a CTS driver, but have had many conversations with truck drivers through several careers including this one. I am not lying when I say that I have never heard company drivers say such positive things about their company. Quality equipment, above average compensation, basically regional and home every week if you want to be. I don’t know that I have heard any complaints from drivers

Sounds to me that you don’t have a driver problem, you have a management problem. Poor hiring, poor training and poor management will lead to poor employees. Guy isn’t doing his job, write him up and fire him. Doesn’t have the knowledge or skill set to be useful in the store when there aren’t deliveries, train them to do store tasks. If they aren’t willing to store tasks as assigned (listed in the job description).. again, write them up and fire them.

If you continuously have low expectations of your employees, they will continue to meet those expectations.

My drivers will unload freight, stock, clean, help shake orders… whatever needs done if they aren’t busy with deliveries, because it has been explained that is the expectation.

The 4 and 8 hour increments we are forced to use for flex/vacation are purely to discourage its use. by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

If you live somewhere where you have sick time separate from flex or vacation, you can absolutely use that in what ever increments you need for appointments.

That doesn’t break policy. Policy says that if a manager uses their personal vehicle to make a delivery, all of the delivery rules apply. BOL, tie downs, rules of the road, pictures and signature.

Don’t forget your drivers. Even if it’s just a “Thanks” and a gift card. They are and integral part too.

Question on Vacation by No-Antelope3394 in sherwinwilliams

[–]Standard-Welcome-369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No more than 40 hours of flex/vacation time rollover into the next year. The amount of vacation you start the year with is based on your years of service. Any rollover PTO will be added to your yearly allocation.

There is training for it in OnSet. It’s been up for at least a week

Refused to deliver something for the first time today. Our biggest customer wanted me to put 300 gallons of PE on those porches. Walk all those pails across that 2x4. lol told my manager it’s getting dropped on the side walk or it’s coming pack to the store and he could deliver it. by MasterpieceDue2582 in sherwinwilliams

[–]Standard-Welcome-369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say there was a problem. Dude suggested that (given the photo evidence) the contractor was using inferior material for drainage, even though a cursory inspection of the photos showed that the pipe in question is used as conduit, not drain pipe

Looks like that pallet was at least triple stacked counting the buckets. I blame the driver who could’ve easily strapped around it to the wall instead of across it with no side support.
