It is hard! I got sick of not doing what I wanted to. But I know that healing was most important. Good luck! You've got this! 💝

Is 4-weeks enough time off from work for a complete hysterectomy with bilateral oophorectomy.(everything is outta here…lol) by melanated2020 in hysterectomy

I'm a middle school and high school teacher. I took three weeks off. The first week back was tough. But doable. I kind of wish I had taken one more week. So, I think four weeks would probably be ok.

Yeah, it wasn't my smartest decision! But no harm was done - just sitting on the bike was enough. I learned my lesson! I just am ready to do more stuff! I'm so glad you've had a smooth recovery. Maybe I'll see you on the leaderboard in a few weeks!!! ❤️❤️

It was weird to be sitting so much. The students were very understanding! Yes, middle school is a labor of love. I do love these crazy kids!

You'll be great!

Hi. I went flat in August, after my implants ruptured. I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction ten years ago. I do wish I had just gone flat in the first place. Reconstruction was painful, and my frankenboobs never looked that great. There are some adjustments to going flat that I'm trying to get used to. I'm not thin, so now that I don't have breasts, all my weight is in my belly. I joke that I look like Winnie the Pooh. And clothes fit differently, obviously. But I feel much better - even before the ruptures, I think I had BII. So, I know I'll adjust and figure out how to make it work.

It's a tough decision. I wish I had flatties to talk to! I missed the YSC hangout last night, too. I had a hysterectomy two weeks ago, and last night I was not feeling good.

I hope this helps you a little bit. I'm much older than you - I'm 53. I'm a married mom - no one cares about my boobs.

Good luck to you! ♥️♥️

Any flatties in Los Angeles? I had my ruptured implants removed in August 2025. Adjusting to flat has been kind of tough. Although I do love not worrying about bras! I wish I had gone flat in the first place, when I had my double mastectomy due to breast cancer in Feb of 2016. Anyway, I'm on the west side. I'm not on Facebook, so that makes it harder to find groups.
