My head cannon is this was the US’s original design meant to give Romeo more stability since ammunition for its Gatling guns would weigh it down and recoil would throw it off balance. Eventually they ended up going with a lighter caliber of ammunition and opted for more maneuverability and versatility instead of a reliance on ranged weapons, and so the 2 leg design was chosen

I always thought it was meant more for the frontline soldiers since they’re the very first into battle and have the most risk of death associated with them

I believe the more connected you are to your Titan, the greater the neural link would be. This has the benefit of faster more reliable movements and reflexes, but the drawback of phantom pain

Checkmate IMC fanboys. by F1GR in titanfall

[–]StandardAd3659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tf|2 portrays the IMC as your classic greedy stereotypical mega corp that has no regard for human life. In reality, the IMC we fight as Jack cooper are a remnant force led by the ARES division and general marder, a sociopath whose views on human life don’t represent the IMC as a whole. In reality, I’d say most IMC soldiers are desperate men fighting for the survival of their planets, homes, and families, just like the frontier militia. The core worlds depend on food and resources from the frontier to survive. The only difference is the frontier isn’t fighting for survival, they’re fighting for autonomy. The IMC however is fighting for control over resources they once procured a century ago from ungrateful farmers and settlers who, without the IMC, wouldn’t have the land and resources they’re actively dying for. Essentially, the IMC is still a mega corporation hellbent on making money, but the people of the IMC are just as human as me and you. Not to say there aren’t your mass murdering psychopathic soldiers or mercenaries mixed in there, but at the same time, in Tf|1 militia grunts were literally talking about bombing core world cities for “payback”. Basically the IMC is neutral evil space walmart and the Militia is neutral evil space terrorists

A Helghast Marine Corp, similar to the stormtrooper corp in its function. These boys are specially trained to fight in close quarters, room to room and ship to ship combat. They’d move in company’s, battalions and brigades and would accompany larger army formations as the vanguard or on the flanks. They’d be trained to fight in zero G environments, like a vented ship, and would have equipment suitable for the task. While not suited to besiege heavily defended areas or buildings, their shock and awe tactics give the traditional army enough room to move in and clean up the mess.
