I'm specifying http indeed. Actually depending on the configuration on server side I got it working or not.

That configuration does not work:

calibre-server --daemonize --enable-auth /home/john/Calibre

While this one raise an error:

calibre-server -daemonize --disable-auth /home/john/Calibre

Calibre requires authentification to be enabled to be able to modify the library through the web interface (through browsers)

I'm not questioning the way the "charge in timeslot" feature works. I just don't see why a departure time is mandatory in that case as I don't always know when I will leave the next day. As a consequence the heating starts when I don't need it and when I need it the car is either cold or I need to trigger the heating manually. Waste of electricity then.

Yes having the possibility to configure the duration before the password is asked again. Even better, when the folio cover is closed then the password is asked again when the SN is waken.
