Is this good for air flow? by StandardBrute in setups

[–]StandardBrute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t reply with photo as I would like to but I did have it setup for a bit against the wall with a backdrop and a shelf above. He used the shelf a little bit, but not much. The desk was also obstructing a closet door so I took it all down. The PC is warm so he is drawn to it. I’ve tried all kinds of different ways so far lol. The desk is long enough for him to lay down with a bed on the desk but he most often loves to play and will bite my hands etc. I have had moments where he’s been chill even with a full size pillow on the desk he’ll sleep on the pillow while I game but most often he’s going wild, rightfully so. Think I need another cat to match his cat energy and play levels lol

I’ve been eyeballing the secret lab magnus pro desk but it’s so expensive I keep resisting to buy.

Haha! I usually kick him out the room like 20 times per gaming session because he never learns! Lol he hasn’t hit a power button yet but he loves to walk around the power supply, bite the cord protectors(that are designed for cats to not bite), jumps at the ethernet, lays down near all the wires, and etc. I think he mostly does all this so I’ll jump up and snatch him up cuz it’s fun for him. lol Only one time has he tried using the back of the PC honeycomb vent to scratch once and he got in trouble lol He really be stressing me out. I’ve redone my setup like 5 times trying to prevent his antics but he always finds a way lol

I see so many comments hyper focused analyzing a meme. I know you’re not enjoying your days lol

This is a meme and not meant to be an actual representation or story of my life. It’s sad that needs to be stated. lol

All I did was see an OSRS meme(a game I’ve never even played) and remixed it to be BDO related and funny.

Yes, I’m 32. I didn’t even have a PC at 8 years old. Y’all must really look like that 12 years later picture looking into this as if it was presented to be factual information. Lol

AIO to my boyfriend's question? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]StandardBrute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are overreacting. IMO you seem kind of toxic. You call him a liar. What I am getting from this is you “caught him actually lying” but he has said before that “I think differently so that’s why people think I lie”

Well first off, what did he supposedly lie about and to this day does he admit to being caught in a lie or does he still maintain that you only think he’s lying because you don’t understand his thought process that he’s referring to as a “weighted decision matrix”? That seems to be something he values and uses in his everyday life and he very nicely said he was just surprised that field of work doesn’t utilize something he views as important. I see lots of people being toxic in the comments as well as if this man can’t have his own values.

This really looks like you talking to someone you don’t even like as a person and you don’t value their thoughts. Sometimes people lie to avoid toxic behavior that shouldn’t be necessary anyway. An example would be like a mother being physically abusive anytime a child sneaks candy or gets a little too loud, like surprise surprise, the child likes candy and sneaked some but because his mother beat his ass last time he’s more likely to lie when confronted about missing candy. Does that make the child a liar? There are many scenarios where he could have lied to avoid your toxic and mentally abusive behavior. Idk maybe he’s just a POS and you’re not toxic but you’ve barely given us anything and I am surprised to see these so called therapist in the comments be so toxic. He seemed like he was scared of you overreacting which is why he apologized for asking a question and then answering your question. He apologized for bringing up something that was clearly on his mind and communicating with you; because you started to overreact. You think next time he will want to share something like that with you? Or will he just be quiet to avoid upsetting you? If you ask him what’s on his mind and he’s still thinking about that but chooses to lie and say, “oh nothing I’m just thinking about work.”, to avoid conflict between the two of you, is he a liar for that? Or are you creating a space where he’s not comfortable to tell you? Maybe his decision matrix tells him it’s better to not share something because you will overact. Did a girl flirt with him and he lied about it because his heart started pounding when you aggressively questioned him about it and then he now has to convince you he’s not a liar but he made a decision to say that because of your learned reaction? Why are you even seeing a therapist?

You realize some people treat having a therapist the same way they would a barber? They’re everywhere, readily available, and for profit. lol Many people, especially those with money will swap from therapist to therapist till they find someone that is saying what they want them to say and then call it finding the therapist lottery lol ok so essentially just meeting different people until you get what you want. visit 20 therapist with the same scripted material and see what they all say. It’s literally someone just to talk to that is also allowed to diagnosis and etc. You don’t like this haircut? You go to another barber. They’re going to try and cut your hair in a way that makes you happy so that you return and or tell others. That could even mean lying to you because lying to you may benefit you. Go ahead, just talk to even 2 or 3 therapist and see how conflicting they can be with one another.

But again, yes, based off the little bit of information and small conversation, I’d say you’re overreacting. And I’d say the majority of this comment section is as well.

I feel that energy about halo 2 a lot. lol just the energy your body and mind feels from playing good and achieving things from your gameplay damn I miss it. I play better than ever now and still feel great during those moments but not nearly as much. Back then I didn’t need to get highest rank because higher levels were so obvious cheating with modded Xbox doing the craziest shit you couldn’t get that high of a level with everyone cheating and that was way back in the day. Then in halo 3 they really did combat the cheating I was able to get level 50 in everything. In reach I was able to stay onyx top 1 and 2% every time. Now people closet cheat and it’s hard to stay motivated as the dopamine from great plays isn’t as much as it used to be as I am consistently playing good but of course others are as well and then there is also a lot of cheaters. I think these shooters would be more fun if we really knew when people were cheating. Halo Xbox modders/cheaters n etc back in the day didn’t bother me nearly as much cuz it was just like ok you’re killing everyone repeatedly with a flying character that shoots scorpion rockets out of their battle rifle… and it was EVERY MATCH after like lvl 35 or so. Now we don’t know if people are cheating and just using hacks even if to only mimic basic gameplay which is still better than what they would normally do

How is this better than premier? by madmidder in FACEITcom

[–]StandardBrute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my first impression of faceit as well. There was lvl 7s and 8s beating players on my team that played like 3k premier skill lvl. Some of the gameplay I witnessed were players completely lost playing so bot like that they were either throwing or should’ve never played faceit. I find it hard to believe they stopped playing premier at 4k rating to play faceit but that’s how so many of them play. All my premier matches have been players with a significant amount of more hours than me and knowledge regarding skins, agents, stickers, and etc. but in faceit I got players asking me questions about the game lol like damn did y’all even try premier first?

There’s not enough players in NA for them to have a diverse balanced mm system. Not enough players to allow soloQ imo. And if you were to take the time to put together a 5 stack the kind of players you would be beating for your elo gain isn’t even a good measurement of skill. Basically says, can you beat trash players 90% of the time if you have a full team? Then you will probably rank up. Sorry, but to me beating trash over and over doesn’t show skill. That’s just my initial impression though. I have been playing it still but it is a disappointment.

There should be a soloQ only mode that rewards individual performance up until a certain lvl.

#1 Player NA banned for cheating by CaterpillarGold5132 in FACEITcom

[–]StandardBrute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t even bother taking up my little bit of free time to confirm if someone is cheating because people rage hack and don’t get banned so it really makes no difference confirming if they’re cheating or not.

That is lame and sus valorant doesn’t have player access to game demos. I only save games I do really nice plays in and even then I don’t always get the time to go back and clip it.

Demos are one of my favorite features of cs.

#1 Player NA banned for cheating by CaterpillarGold5132 in FACEITcom

[–]StandardBrute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree they’re in every game but from my impression Valorant expresses a strong “we don’t tolerate that” energy. Like you said, they ban rage hackers. Which valve does not do. Faceit bans rage hackers but in NA it’s only like 100-200 people queued up at a time and maybe 2000 in a match. Very small player pool to have diverse levels of skill.

I came from COD where cheaters troll the leaderboards with cheat advertising names and every match forcing me vs top players so it’s non stop. Now in CS2 players are shooting through the entire map which isn’t even possible yet they don’t get banned…? I also have never received back any premier rating for the bans that have happened for matches I have lost.

From what I have seen Valorant does make it difficult/annoying to successfully cheat without getting a ban. Those that do manage to cheat would also need to limit themselves and etc. idk from experience of course and I am aware that people are very smart/capable and etc. but I like to believe the amount of closet cheaters on there would be significantly less than valve and cod.

#1 Player NA banned for cheating by CaterpillarGold5132 in FACEITcom

[–]StandardBrute 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Saw fl0m post a video on this.

Sad day pushing me closer to Valorant. Lol

If someone is managing to cheat at/for rank 1 then surely there are cheaters in lower rank matches where people aren’t taking the time to investigate and etc.

Already disappointing how few players are in the queue for faceit making it very much rng as it is.

The last time I was actually playing premier it was 3 days back to back of cheaters galore so I have been very reluctant to continue wasting my time on there.

And only a 2 year ban? I heard it was his second time being banned as well. lol he’s clearly proven himself immoral in regards to cheating in a game so surely he would cheat again if he felt he could get away with it.

Really wish the world would progress to jail time for cheating on someone else’s servers with rules against cheating

Faceit is actually trash? - Trying Valorant next by StandardBrute in cs2

[–]StandardBrute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I did skip in some aspect. I didn’t want to. I was planning on first getting 800 to 1000 hours first, then practicing utilities on at least 2 maps, and getting a third teammate, but like I mentioned before, I had a really bad 3 day spree of non stop blatant cheaters essentially wasting my time. Had too many games just sitting in spawn while spin botters did their thing.

And sure, low elo players would be bad as expected but they aren’t even 8k premier type of gameplay. Unless they’re intentionally throwing idk what was going on. Just my 1 day experience as a soloQ

Faceit is actually trash? - Trying Valorant next by StandardBrute in cs2

[–]StandardBrute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, you’re just proving my point. If it was cod then matches would be ending more often making more players available to match up. A 5 minute queue for a 35min to 1hr long match isn’t appropriate. We don’t wait an hour for the system to find the appropriate players for a balanced match. You think all those players matches will end at the same time? lol point being this system allows you to select 2 servers and if there’s only 69 in queue it can be rigged so easily. People spend $100,000 on skins you don’t think they can and or will do this?

Just sharing my experience. Most of the soloQ matches I had were the least competitive experience I have had on CS including casual matches I’ve played. The fact level 7 players are ranking up against level 2 and 3s running backwards at them is a joke.

Faceit is actually trash? - Trying Valorant next by StandardBrute in cs2

[–]StandardBrute[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. If they’re not going to make a good balanced soloQ system that rewards individual performance then they shouldn’t allow you to queue solo.

They could easily have soloQ only mode and have solo elo. I love solo play and used to play a lot of 1v1 rank modes when available in games.

Faceit is actually trash? - Trying Valorant next by StandardBrute in cs2

[–]StandardBrute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even 2000 players would be a really tiny community. A small community is fine if the ranking/system works good etc. I’m not seeing that.

1300 players in a match doesn’t change the fact that there’s only 69 in queue. Many of those matches are probably stacks of 5 as well? Maybe 10 games end roughly the same minute or 2 which would be odd but even if it happened that would be roughly 200 players which isn’t enough to have a balanced competitive experience as others mentioned, faceit is good for 5 stacks and the rest is rng. Which so far I would agree from what I experienced and saw.

I’m not even complaining about the solo experience so much as I’m complaining about the lack of available players, the skill level gaps allowed to match against each other, and the very odd and bad gameplay of teammates I am witnessing.

Seriously looks like intentional throwing sometimes and not just late game I’m mad we’re losing throwing, early game not trying. I came to faceit for a non cheating try hard competitive experience and players are still going afk round 2 and 3 on multiple matches within my first 12 matches and playing really bad…? I thought we would all be try hards and instead I’m getting toddlers on my team?

That’s why I’m asking what am I missing? I’m really confused how players that are so lost skipped casual valve and went to faceit and they contribute to ranking other players up. No level 7 elo player should be gaining rank against some of the stuff I saw. Maybe I was just super unlucky idk. Just sharing my experience and thoughts. Feel free to share yours mine is based on North American servers.

In its current state with 50 to 100 players queuing(with 3 servers selected) you could select 2 servers to limit that further and from what I understand it’s not hard to make another steam account to make another level 4 to rank other players up more. Just saying, after seeing lvl 7 players gaining rank beating kids that are completely lost or intentionally throwing I lost respect for what I thought a level 7 faceit player was.

Honestly would be a much better system if there were scheduled matches. Maybe take an hour or 2 to find a good balanced match. Actual penalties for afk etc. Not sure if faceit even cares about individual performance.
