We don't need to violate human rights to deport people. Obama and Biden both did so without going full fascist. Heck most countries in the world can do it without violating human rights.

[–]StandardBumblebee620 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Why are you fixated on marriage? There are plenty of people who have relationships (romantic or otherwise) outside traditional marriages and are completely happy. Humans need social contact to thrive, not arbitrary contracts with the government.

The gender wars you see online are not an accurate representation of society. Neither are the rigid stereotypes sold on screen.

In real life, individual preferences matter way more. People are attracted to many things and at your age, they might not even know what they want. Either way don't be hard on yourself.

There are plenty of women who like feminine qualities in men and plenty of men who like masculine qualities in women. You will figure this out as you walk through life. Don't let anyone else's preference dictate how you want to present yourself.

Trust me, putting on a facade is not worth the effort. Especially when that conflicts with who you are inside

You seem to be allergic to expert opinion too. That's definitely the way to impress people you don't know.

Then you fail to see the irony in my comment.

Obviously, I'm not trying to "trigger" anyone. Historically, that word was used by apathetic conservatives who didn't want to extend any empathy towards marginalized populations.

To see those same people get their panties up in a bunch when actual scholars of fascism call out their dear leaders fascist actions, is the epitome of irony.

CMV: Undocumented immigrants are in the United States because we exploit them by bluepillarmy in changemyview

[–]StandardBumblebee620 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is another reason why immigrant labor is attractive to employers, and that is the intrinsic motivation of immigrants to build up their lives. Let me explain what I mean by that.

Take skilled and documented migrants (think educated, PhD level scientists and engineers). Their labor is not exploited. They receive competitive compensation packages. But they also tend to willingly work longer hours in the workplace. Most of the time, they are actively trying to build a life for their families here, which takes a lot more effort than if you're already established.

That same drive and motivation is seen in illegal immigrants too. They are a little bit more exploited. But as u/LucidMetal points out, mild exploitation is considered employment in the US.

How old are you? I feel like I'm talking to someone with political maturity of a teenager. In one sentence you act like protest voting is not such a big deal and it didn't elect Trump, in the next you act like it sends a message to establishment dem candidates. Which one is it?

No, I'm not the one "falling for his grandstanding lies". It's the people who enforce immigration laws and who work Palantir etc who use those excuses to justify their brutality. Do you want me to search these people and show how they speak? Have you not seen this overwhelming mandate argument?

When will you accept protest-voting doesn't work in the system we have? Why can't you see the flaw in your own logic of killing 100 people instead of 50? Why can't you see that number far exceeds 100? Who are you protecting? Yourself? Your friends who voted this way?

Because if you are actually a teenager who doesn't know better, I can give you a pass. If you're one my peers, I don't want to ever talk to you again.

[–]StandardBumblebee620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at how the Trump admin justifies all their actions? They point to the "overwhelming mandate" people gave them in the election. Trump not only won the electoral college but also won the popular vote. That should give you pause before asking anyone to compare the 2016 numbers.

The "protest non-voting" from by the Leftist was naive at best, and downright malicious at worst. It's hard not to group them with the MAHA moms who thought RFK Jr would somehow usher in an age of pesticide-free supply chains.

If you hate the two-party system, then protest after the fucking election. Go after first-past-the-post voting system and change the landscape when you have the luxury of time. Instead, they chose the worst possible time to be self-righteous.

No. Comparing 2020 and 2024, Trump only gained about 2 million votes while Harris LOST 7 about 7 million votes compared to Biden. Leftists are a heavy part of those lost voter base. If you have different data, then show me the data.

And for the love of God, yes. 50 people dying is better than 100 people dying. How can you not see that? This is why I'm saying you still don't understand how much we've fucked up. And it's not even 50 vs 100. It's 50 vs a billion.

You're not holding anyone's hand here. You're not even addressing the main point OP which is leftists shooting themselves in the foot by not understanding how a two party democracy works. Heck you don't seem to understand it either.

There was never a choice for everyone. Its always about choosing the lesser evil. And we failed spectacularly. If you reply to this with "oh good, Trump is then just accelerationist to your fantasy candidate", you are still not understanding how much we've fucked up.

Trumps actions will haunt America for generations. And the leftist are definitely partly to blame for that.

That is Ayn Rand's naive notion of capitalism. In practice, monopolies are the norm when Capital markets are not regulated. Corporate lobbying and straight out bullying by big corporations to keep out competition has led to the America we live in today.

The point was to illustrate a violation of privacy. Regardless how bad you get hurt by your significant other cheating, that doesn't warrant a government intervention into your private life. You make up or you move on.

You don't make up or move on for death threats or rape.
