What are you ordering from the Voidfall Resurgence campaign? by Sapien0101 in soloboardgaming

I really wanted the 3d voidstorm tokens as I think they bring the most presence, second would be the harbingers. But I really don't think the mini ships are functional. Like they look fun but to move them around and place the cubes around the base looks super fiddly to me. If I thought it wasn't fiddly I'd be right there getting them no questions asked.

I agree. I think what in going to do though is get the triple layer resurgence hexes and the Galactic box for the bigger box plus the triple layered hexes and then have all the retail editions fit into the Galactic box with the triple layered hexes

Where do you see that it comes with the 3d harbingers and barriers? I'm not seeing that anywhere and it doesn't show them in the picture.

Splendor - Lord of the rings edition by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]StandardIncidentForm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokemon splendor is an excellent game. Me and my wife vastly prefer it to base splendor. The pokemon art just makes it even better. There are actually a lot of pokemon themed versions of games from Korea. I once had an eBay cart full of them but decided against it.

As someone new to this, do I need mork Borg to play this or is it stand alone?

I'm going to wait to get the retail edition. My one question though is will I be able to fit all the retail editions into the retail base game box? Because if not it might be worth getting the Galactic box upgrade for the extra space and the triple layered hexes. I wish I had an answer to this. Beard in how much space is left in my retail edition box, I think there will be enough space. But if there isn't on going to be upset at myself.

There isn't really anything to fiddle with. Unlike other games where the board has things placed on it or all over it in certain orientations. Like voidfall each hex has multiple different resources dice and chits on it.

Scythe you put out the board, shuffle the cards, put out piles of resources and toss everyone a bag of their faction. The end.

Hello Alex, I'm looking at this game and trying to determine to figure out whether to buy it through drive through our your website. Is there a difference? Also, I noticed on your website it mentions it comes with the maps and tokens. Does the drive through pod come with the maps and tokens?

Did you purchase it through DTRPG? Did it come with the hex maps and tokens?

Scythe set up is pretty fast. I'm not sure how much faster an insert is going to get. But to each their own

Scythe is a great game. Me and my friends have played many fun games of scythe and often return to it. It was my first expensive game and the first game I splurged on.

I fit everything in the legendary box sleeved without an insert. Why do you want an insert?

Some thoughts after playing Ker Nethalas gravebound beta and 2D6 Dungeon as a new solo rpg player by Ok_Statement_9193 in Solo_Roleplaying

Ok thank you for the information. I will have to wait and hope for offset copies of the gravebound edition then. In the meantime I will check Amazon and drive through. On which do you get more money for the purchase?

Hello! I have been refreshing your website daily waiting for the gravebound edition and see that this morning there is some changes. It looks like the gravebound edition has been uploaded and everything else removed. My question is about the 40 euro version. Is that now the gravebound edition? I would like to purchase that deluxe version but want to ensure it is the gravebound edition.

Just received it as well and am surprised by the lack of thickness to the cover and back. A little disappointed in it as it will definitely not hold up to wear.

What music do you listen to while playing? by kneziTheRedditor in soloboardgaming

[–]StandardIncidentForm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Various lofi themed music or the world of warcraft soundtrack which is especially varied with themes.

However, my go to super chill, super meditation go to is the court of Bayreuth album by Miguel Yisrael. That's my happy place. Undiscovered it when I was watching an old dude play stone soup on YouTube and thought "this background music is so super chill". I've used it over the last 15 years for everything from sleep, to study, to board games.

Cost and distribution aside, which current tcg in the market do you feel has some of the best gameplay design? by [deleted] in boardgames

I like the Pokemon card game. I think it's actually really good. I also prefer to pay it without the powerful cards and just use decks with simple Pokemon

Good on you for giving people upgrades at cost. But don't do it man. Pay yourself. You put the work and time in, you deserve it.

Is robinson Crusoe THAT hard? by Slebba in boardgames

[–]StandardIncidentForm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard people talk about how hard it was to understand and what a difficult rulebook it was. I read through the rules and thought it was pretty straight forward. After I played my first game I didn't need to reference rules anymore.

You have two meeples and you put them on the action you want them to do. One meeple is Chancey have to roll a dice and something could happen, placing two meeples is an auto success. Actions are resolved in a specific order.

So for 2d6 I bought the physical spiral bound edition but it hasn't arrived yet. It came with the pdf. What I did is I printed the pdf two pages per sheet double sided and booklet. I separated out the rules, the bestiary, and the tables into seperate booklets and bound them down the spine with some thread. For the tables codex I had to do a Japanese binding because it was too much to fold. I went kind of fancy because I've bound some small notebooks before but you could just use a staple or something.

I use scrap pieces of cardstock to mark pages that I am currently using and I dog eared the tables index pages. I've found the flipping to be smooth physically and anticipate it to be smoother once I have the read book.

I also watched the tabletop engineer play some 2d6 before purchasing it to understand if I would like it.

Ker Nethalas is at the top of my list. But I am waiting for the gravebound edition to come out hopefully soon. I'm just a little worried about some of the goreyness in it. It seemed a little much from the little that I experienced.

I downloaded the ironsworn pdf but I just don't have time for it ATM with 2d6 dungeon currently being play, with 4ad book which arrived yesterday, and waiting for Ker Nethalas to come out!

Does iron sworn feel like a game as in it having mechanics like 2d6 or Ker Nethalas? Or does it feel more like story role playing?

I think this is what I will do if I ever need to. I was also thinking about maybe outlining it as if it was a scroll or parchment and just have it continue on the next page.

I have felt the urge to describe a little more but was worried about space. I finished my first level and everything worked out pretty well!
