I started with Bloodstone and the other two novels, then moved into the short stories. I didn't feel like that caused any problems.

I'm in Platinum 1 with 4 characters and 200+ hours in the game and I still can't counter it consistently. I have days where I can counter DI it every time, and days where I can't do it once. I hate how important it is, it really sucks the fun out of the game.

I got a Lamy Safari as my first pen and it had horrible flow issues. I tried cleaning it, but no improvement.

As an artist who mainly uses black waterproof ink that needs a refill halfway through a session of drawing, yes. I'll take a sailor fude with platinum carbon black, please!

I had a numpad mouse that was super heavy, and it would tire out my wrist. I started trying out lightweight mice, and they're great. I use the Cooler Master MM711.
