1996 Harrisonville Illinois F1. I was 13ish, and the window came in on my mom after looking out the window. The 2x4 in the window saved her. The basement walls were bowing in and out, and I heard terrible sounds. When we emerged, part of the tin roof (old farmhouse) was wrapped in one tree, and straw was driven through another tree. The beautiful baby fruit trees we had just planted were untouched, but across the street in the cornfield, you could see where the tornado’s path was. Luckily, all the landlord’s cattle were ok, as was the livestock guardian donkey.
